If you haven’t heard it – it’s awesome.

Anything up beat- so I listen to a lot of pop.

Here’s some artists on my workout lists: Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, La Roux, Gwen Stefani, “danger high voltage” by Electric Six, Missy Elliott, Jay-Z, MGMT, Shakira, “jungle Drum” by Emiliana Torrini, Paramore.

bumping this up- i need songs too!

I tend to listen to pop songs as for some reason they pump me up rather than oldies… right now i’m downloading enrique iglesias “i like it” katy perry “california girls” and ke$ha “your love is my drug”

but i’m looking for more good ones!

Lately I’ve been running without music, but I like pop and country for workouts, and old dance music.

Taylor Swift is probably my top choice lately, and Carrie Underwood.

I also like running to the Decemberists (some of their faster songs), and anything Dropkick Murphys is good, or Streetlight Manifesto.  A little different but again, a strong beat helps me out, and these guys pick up the pace to go along with intervals ๐Ÿ™‚

My workout playlist has a lot of ironic songs on it, like Running on Empty, Born to Run, and Greased Lightnin’. ๐Ÿ˜›

I like foreign music when I work out!  If the lyrics are all in English, it distracts me from whatever thoughts I am currently obsessing over.  Ha!  My favorites are Despina Vandi (Greek), Amr Diab (Arabic), and a few upbeat tunes from the Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack (Hindi, English, and a little Spanish).  Eventually, I switch them, because even if I don’t know what the words mean, I start to learn them and can sing the songs – and I get all distracted again.  Sad but true.

I actually use the Pandora on my phone when I’m runninng a lot (I have another app to track my runs, and I don’t want to run with my phone and my iPod) and my favorite is actually my Salt n Peppa Pandora station, haha, gotta love S&P!!!

If I’m at the gym and have my iPod, I like Punk Goes Pop which is pop songs turned into punk-ish songs.  Yelling makes me run faster, hahaha.
