I pick any songs that I’m really digging at the moment, because I like to sing along in my head.  But some of my staples are:

– Don’t Stop Believin’ (Journey)
– Livin’ on a Prayer (Bon Jovi)
– Rock your Body (Justin Timberlake)
– Shout (Joan Jett)
– Numb (Linkin Park)

Mostly, I love songs with strong and fast beats because it regulates my stride, makes me run faster, and pushes me harder!

I often run on Guns and Roses greatest hits… ACDC, Aerosmith, Red Hot Chili Peppers… Mostly, any classic rock with a good beat are my go-to for running.

Ohh I love playlist suggestions, here are my recent adds and some favorites:

1) Run This World (Girls) Beyonce

2) Rumor Has It- Adele

3) Remember the Name – Fort Minor

4) Shake It Out – Florence + The Machine

5) Not Fair – Lily Allen

6) Time to Pretend – MGMT

7) Pumped Up Kicks – Foster the People (if you’re not sick of it by now)

8) Still Dirrty- Christina Aguliera

9) Shake It- Metro Station

10) Work That Mary J Blige

11) Fast as you can- Fionna Apple

12) Runaway Baby- Doo-wops and Hooligans

13) Bulletproof- La Roux

Sorry I may have gone overboard there, but gives you a couple of options to look into. I also will look for songs I like via Pandora or 8tracks has workout mixes already made for you. Just gotta find ones that you like! 8tracks has a good iPhone app too that got me through some long runs during marathon training when I needed some extra variety and introduction to different music.

My current “Running” playlist on my iPod consists of:

Born this way- Lady Gaga, Call on me- Eric Prydz, Part of me- Katy Perry, Sexy chick- David Guetta, Right round- Flo Rida, OMG- Usher, Party rock anthem- LMFAO, and Stronger- Kanye West

It changes periodically, but these are my favorites right now. They’re all very fast paced, which motivate me to go faster!
