I’m looking at the same venues. However, I’m looking to have a smaller event of approx 100 people.  Beat Street Station is 133.25pp (before taxes and gratuity).  Once you’ve add that in it comes to 167.90pp. This is from a sample package.  I’m sure it can be adjusted for a lowered cost.  I’ve read that they are very accommodating.  The event minimum is 50 ppl.

World Cafe live has packages ranging from 100 – 140pp.  Those prices include taxes and all.  They also have a rental fee.  Upstairs is $1500. Downstairs is $2500.  Can have your ceremony there for an extra $500.  They have event minimums.  50 ppl for Upstairs and 125 for Downstairs.

I hope this helps out a little. I plan to visit both.  I was really excited about World Cafe Live, BUT I don’t meet the even minimum for Downstairs. I havent seen many pictures of the Upstairs, but from what I have seen I like Downstairs way better.

I live in CA right now, so if anyone has visited either venue and has anything to say I’d love to hear it.

I just checked out the link from misslyn86 .  Thanks!  I’d been wanting to see pictures of a wedding in Upstairs Live.

Im getting married there on 10/13/12. Well actually the ceremony is at Philly Magic Gardens, and the reception is at WCL, upstairs. We are having about 90 ppl. We love it!! They are really gret to work with and if your looking for a cool, laid back space, I would recommend it!

Hey Gals! I JUST got married at WCL two weeks ago. I can honestly say my fiance and I were overwhelmed with how perfectly everything went! They are true professionals there and made our ceremony and reception so, so enjoyable. We did our ceremony upstairs and reception downstairs, which worked great, but they are flexible with whatever you want to do. Our guests loved the venue, food and staff just as much as we did.

We don’t have our professional photos yet, but we went with very simple (non-flroal) centerpieces and I thought it looked very classy. The room really speaks for itself if you don’t have a lot of money for decor. Of course, flowers look beautiful too.

Feel free to PM me with any specific questions.

I just noticed this on the main page, so pardon me for jumping in! I don’t know Philadelphia at all, but I recently ewnt there for a show, and was smitten with the venue  – Union Transfer! My friend (it was her bachelorette party!) and I wished it was in NYC!

@kariface:  Oooh, that is such a good idea! I’m sure Union Transfer would be awesome for a venue! I haven’t been there yet, but I used to love it as a kid when it was the Spaghetti Warehouse (a mediocre but fun Italian restaurant, not an actual warehouse for pasta). Good call to look into music venues as reception sites. I would check out the Trocadero too. A wedding at the Troc would be epic, if they do event rentals.
