Is it just red patches or red patches due to dry skin? Occasionally I get a patch of dry skin on my breasts that’s itchy, and red because I scratch it. Usually in the winter when my skin is dry in general.

Have you purchased any new bras lately? Different brand than you are used to?  New laundry soap?  New regular soap?  Could be contact dermatitis.  Have you gained weight recently?  Skin can be itchy when it is expanding to accommodate weight gain.  Started working out and not changing out of your sports bra and other work out clothes right away?  Prolonged contact with damp clothing (like a sweaty sports bra) can cause skin irritation/rashes.

On the other hand, the first symptom inflammatory breast cancer is also a rash.  But it is also very rare, especially in women under 40 (not sure how old you are).

But I would start exploring any lifestyle changes in the last month first. Even if you don’t routinely workout and forget to change out of your sweaty workout clothes, if you did it once or twice that could have been enough to be the start of a yeast or fungal infection in the area that just hasn’t gone away.

There’s lots of things it could be.
