Ok so we have been together forever but Oct 2011 we decided to tie the knot in September 2012, our wedding is now 9 weeks away and I’m thinking what the hell. I want more time to enjoy the prospect of marriage, more time to plan, more time to think about the things I want not what I can get in time.
It was me who put them time constraint on the wedding as I want my 87 year old father there and we don’t really have time to wait. Until tonight I was very excited and I suppose I still am I just would like some more time 🙂
Anyone else have a quick wedding and either regret it or are you glad you did it this way. To put this in prospective I never dreamed of a wedding or a dress or had any preconceptions on how I wanted it. Does it really matter? Should I just learn to go with the flow and enjoy the day?

I’m 8 days out- if I had had more time, I would have done more DIYs- which would have given more stress, so I’m glad we didn’t. We had a 6-month engagement, and that was long enough! I’m so ready for everything to be over, and just be MARRIED!!!
Yes- just go with the flow and enjoy the day!! 🙂

Shoot, I had an 8-week engagement; yours seems like a lifetime! 🙂 It’s all about perspective.
I was really glad to have a short engagement – sometimes I wish it had been a bit longer, just so I could have planned a few things out a little more and had time to settle into being engaged, but in reality, having a shorter engagment was great because I didn’t have time to second-guess myself on decisions. Also, having Darling Husband introduce me as his ‘wife’ is pretty awesome!
Don’t stress about things! Enjoy these last few months as a Fiance and also keep your eye on the prize – being married and having your father there to witness it.
ETA: Correction, our engagement was actually about 3 months, but it was after a month into it we decided to get married in February (we originally were going to get married in June).

Darling Husband and I were only engaged five months, and we pulled off a hell of a wedding in that time! I’m glad we didn’t have to spend eons in the “engaged” state and got to skip right on up to “married”
