Sorry this is long: I have been avoiding posting about my dress but it is worrying me, to cut a long story short I ordered my dress 8 months before the wedding but a few weeks later then postponed my wedding for 6 months as some family members needed more time to save to attend my Destination Wedding which is fine. After a while I started to 2nd guess my descision and get dress regret, the season is similar as its in a tropical climate, but the dress will be older and I have looked at lots on WB since and started to wonder if I made the right choice buying so quick (on the first day I tried dresses on).
I also intended on losing weight but I got very sick and needed testosterone therapy and iron IVs as I was anemic and had no energy. So I have only lost 2 kgs this year. I went back to try on my dress a month ago (and have been quite worried about it ever since but made no progress with it). First of all I noticed a large line of foundation inside my dress which surprised me, then the consultant made comments about how much weight I had put on and how it wouldn’t do up, about 6 buttons down the back were open from the top. I totally lost my confidence in myself and the dress. Until then I didnt think I had put on weight but maybe my testosterone increased my back width? But I was only having enough to raise it to the level of the average woman.
I was disappointed as I hadnt been told I was purchasing a sample dress, I thought it was new off the rack. The owner had originally sent an email as I was on her database saying 30 – 50% off all dresses in store and this dress was 30% off. And they clearly let people try it on after I put down the 50% deposit as I would have seen the line of foundation when I first tried it on (and I didnt wear make up to either of the 2 shop visits and it was a much darker colour then I wear). I tried to speak to the owner but she had left the store. The consultant also didnt listen to me and kept saying on the phone to the owner when she called her that I wanted a discount. I kept saying to her I didnt want one, I wanted to purchase a new dress which is what I thought I bought. If I hadn’t seen the make up I would have been none the wiser I guess.
So that night I emailed the owner and she took 3 weeks to reply. I was away overseas so only followed it up last week when I returned. She said they dry cleaned it that was all and said sorry for not taking care of the dress after I bought it. But I also searched my emails and she said first of all the dress was a size 8 before I bought it (she told me she had one in store by email), then after I bought it she said in another email it was a size 4. I am a street size 10/12 with a big bust (12DD). So I wonder if they swapped the dress by accident, I emailed her again last week but she hasn’t replied. My wedding is in 100 days.
What should I do? I have paid 50% of the dress price, I am not sure if I will ever fit the dress or if she will give me my money back or a store credit? I am dieting and trying to exercise but I also have endometriosis and get low energy a lot so it is difficult. I think I am running out of time to find something else.
