Hello dear, How did you provide them with the payment? In person? have you consulted with them in person or over the phone? Signed a contract? I know this time can be very stressful…I’m in the same boat with choosing a wedding photographer. If you arent 100% confident in them…is it too late to change your mind about hiring them and getting your money back? How did you initially get in contact with them? try to reach them with that method…

jmtwxoxo:  i think you are good especially with the signed contract. some people are so scetchy that they wont even sign one.  It really just looks like they are new to the business.

When is your wedding? I’d just ask little questions like what time should we start taking pictures and what time should i start the ceremony?  Most photographers will give you the best time for shooting. It’s a good way to see his communication skills. How fast he responds.

One of the things I did when I was narrowing down a list of potential photographers was check to see if their name (and their business name) showed up on StopStealingPhotos.com. I also ran soome pictures through Tin Eye to see if their work showed up anywhere else, associated with anyone else’s name. Photography is hugely important for me, so I was extremely thorough in curating a list! I wish you the best of luck!

Have you tried contacting the photog with a question or two to see if he is still responsive?

honestly I don’t know that I would be re-thinking my choice of vendors just because I had a bad dream.

jmtwxoxo:  I live in LA and work in the wedding industry (makeup artist) and I’ve worked with hundreds of photographers. If you want, PM me his info and I’ll see what I can dig up for you <3. Also 1950 for a photographer, depending on what you agreed on, is pretty low (for here). Talk to you soon and don’t stress!!!!!
