I agree with the other posters about it being a urinary issue, such as an infection or crystals. Our male kitty starting peeing little puddles on the floor and then they appeared with blood. We took him to the vet and it turns out to be crystals. Special diet for the rest of his days!

Thanks again everyone 🙂
Happy to say our kitty is on her third day of antibiotics and has had no more peeing outside the litterbox.
She’s also gotten over her sulk and I’m back in her good graces again lol.

anev : Oh good to know! I’ve watched SO many videos on how to hold and wrangle cats but I’m always afraid of using too much force and she knows this. Thanks. We use treats too for nail trims and meds. Lol.

sweatergal007 : we use a lot of towels to make “kitty burritos” especially when we’re drawing blood and stuff! Many prefer to have their head covered for uncomfortable procedures too.

Our elderly stray cat that I ended up keeping was doing this. I had her in our room with up to 4 clean litter boxes and that did not help. She was very emaciated and could not put on weight, frequent urination and excessive drinking of water.
She had hyperthyroid and now I have to give her a pill every 12 hours to regulate her thyroid levels. She is doing better, gained weight, etc.
Bring her to the vet and have them do the bloodwork/exams.

anev : haha…good to know that vets do the kitty burrito too but being Italian my family called it the kitty cannoli! We had a long fur cat that hated to be brushed so we’d roll him up in towels and expose small sections of him and brush. It was always a two person job! He was the sweetest cat until you had to wash or brush him. He put me off long fur cats for life.
RobbieAndJuliahaha : how’s kitty now? Did their blood work come back fine?
Pretty please can we see a picture of kitty? 😊
