I am planning on wearing my wedding dress Sept 19th to elope, but I also plan on wearing it again next year. Should I worry about the possible of having it tailored twice? I have been the same size for the last 5 years, but I don’t know how close wedding dresses are tailored to your body.
Is this a bad idea?

If you’ve been the same size for 5 years I wouldn’t worry about it.

I think it will be fine! 🙂

Just try not tear it or let the hem/train drag over anything dirty.

Should be fine.
I”m assuming this means you don’t have your dress yet? If you’re at all concerned when you have your fittings for the wedding this year, ask them to leave a seam allowance rather than trimming it off so you can have it let out a little if need be for next year’s wedding.
Worse comes to worse you find a second dress to wear when the time comes.
Just try not to get the hem dirty (or have it cleaned between) and store it properly in between.

Thanks bees for easing my nerves! The idea of wearing my dress twice is one of the few things that makes this COVID thing less crappy.
