So, I ordered my dress in the very beginning of January. I went to a highly recommended bridal salon that has been around for decades. They said my dress would be in the beginning to middle of May.
I called at the beginning of May to see if all the BM’s had ordered their dresses, and while I was on the phone, double checked that my dress would be in soon. She said yes, it looked like everything was on time.
I gave it until the beginning of June, and still no dress. This past Monday, I called and asked what was going on (very politely!) I work retail, so I was not going to be rude. I understand things happen. I just wanted to know what was going on. She said she wasn’t sure. It wasn’t in yet. She would call the manufacturer (Allure) and call me back.
No call. I called again yesterday, and asked for an update. She said still no answer. She would call Allure again (Friday- today), and call me with an update. She said she would press the issue. Still no call today. Still no answers.
Am I crazy to be worried? I know it is 6 months until my wedding, but where is my dress? I ordered early so I wouldn’t have to worry. How long to I wait before calling back? At what point do I have to stop being so polite? Aaaarrrrrggggghhhh!

@angelalsmith3: I ordered my dress in mid-August of 2012, and it just came in two weeks ago! It ended up taking over 9 months! I was doing the same as you and getting worried because my wedding is in September so I was pretty much stalking the salon until I got answers. Luckily it came in! Since you have 6 months to go I’d say wait another month before calling again. Hopefully everything’s okay. Mine was over 9 months and came in just fine.

My dress was ordered June 2012 and just came in March 2013. But I’m in no rush and the ladies at the store knew that.
I’m sure your dress will be in shortly! It might be some delay. I would give it a few more days and try again. Arent there usually tracking numbers for items like wedding dresses!?!

Thanks! That does make me feel better to know I’m not the only one.
I guess my problem is: I used to work at a family-owned bridal salon, and we could get info for brides from manufacturers like NOW. So, I am just wondering what the delay is. I think I am letting my mind get the best of me with all the possible senarios for what could go wrong. I have worked in retail for over 10 years, so I guess I was expecting better customer service.

My Allure dress took 8 months to arrive. I would not worry!

@destinationjc: Thank you! I was hoping it is just standard for the manufacturer. Glad to hear from another Allure bride!
