MrTau:Don’t you want to learn to cook?
MrTau: Because mommies cook. If you feed our kids crap they will hate you
MrsTau: We don’t have kids.
MrTau:You don’t know! We could!
MrsTau: Do you know something I don’t???

Sounds like my fiance! (The last part sounds like something he would totally say.)
Sometimes I feel like Fiance has the baby bug, maybe your man has the same affliction? Usually I just laugh it off, because I know that he isn’t actually prepared for the realtiy of children. Or he could just be a weirdo (I mean that in the best way possible- I call my Fiance a weirdo all the time).

So … is the issue really about cooking, or about children?
If it’s children, that’s something you really need to talk about before getting married!
If it’s cooking, I’d say it’s such a worthwhile skill for everybody to have (mommies, daddies, and non-mommies and non-daddies!) that maybe it’s something the two of you could learn how to do together. It shouldn’t be something that he expects you to do just because of traditional gender roles, but it’s a great thing to learn how to do for your own physical and financial health as well as satisfaction and enjoyment.

@mrstau732: LOL! My Mom always says that men love women that can cook. Sounds like a stereotype, true, but very true when it comes to my FH. It never hurts to have the skills, ya know? It’s healthier and cheaper too 🙂
