AWwww i think we all feel your pain. Everyone has this trauma in their life!! Whether it be in highschool or later.  I still have terrible skin. But its caused by my severely sensitive skin. So i feel like i am constantly trying to fight with it to become clear. And i too will be seeing a dermetologist soon i’m so excited!

Have you maybe got a cold sore or a canker on your lip?? Otherwise i can only adivise to put a cold compress on it to and take a tylenol to reduce swelling.

I feel for you Tina!!!! You don’t have a cold sore or canker, sounds like a cystic pimple. They are very deep and hurt so badly. I know!!! Do you wear lipstick or lipgloss daily?

I had perfect skin throughout highschool. It wasn’t until I was around 22 that my skin just decided it was going to make my life miserable. I would get cystic acne on my cheeks, around my mouth. I still have to be extremely careful with what I use or my skin will let me know about it. I am always researching ways to get perfect skin and I am almost back to skin I had in highschool. Took me 4 years to get back! I do have scars/indents from cystic acne but those fade over time.

WHen is your appt? Try doing this until you meet with a derm… Take one non coated aspirin in a cup(non coated dissolve way faster), add a tiny bit of water, crush it to make a paste. Apply it to your pimples, leave on over night. It will help a lot. Reduce swelling, reduce redness. If you want to use as an overall mask, dont leave it on any longer than 3 mins. It will help exfoliate your skin, so be prepared to use a cloth in a day to get rid of dead skin.

The aspirin method is so cheap and awesome. IT WORKS! Ask your derm about tretinion cream. Depending where you live, some know it by Retin a. I use it and it is a life saver. Seriously. Good luck!

Aleve helps shrink pimples in a pinch.  I take it for a day or two if I get a bad spot…or a bunch of bad spots.

I know that I ended up going on birth control before I was sexually active just to control my acne and it does wonders.  I still break out a little before my period, but maybe consider birth control if you’re not already on it

Don’t touch it or pick it, put something cold on it when you get a moment, apply a face mask with benzoyl peroxide every evening, and good luck!

As for the big pimple, do no touch it. it will inflame it more. Put benzoyl peroxide on it every night, but be careful to not ouch it on anything hat you do not want stained, it will bleach whatever fabrics it touches.

As for the break outs, I understand. I literally JUST started getting mine under control. I found eliminating as much dairy as I could helped signifigantly!

definitely see your dermatologist! My acne (it was non-cystic) didn’t get better until I followed my dermatologists’ regimen for about 6-8 weeks (antibiotic to kill bacteria, salicylic acid wash at night, Retin-A at night, benzoyl peroxide wash in the morning, sulfur cream in the morning). Slowly it cleared up, but I did get my skin back! Don’t worry, your skin will clear up too! Your dermatologist will recommend what is best for your skin.

It does sound like a cyst to me too. I get them sometimes, when I’m stressed. Right now I have them with 2 weeks until wedding I was expecting them but it’s still annoying. If you think it may come to a head apply hot water to cotton wool and place on sore bit repeatedly as often as you can and that should bring it to a head. If there’s no head forming then I second Bridal Party. It takes 2/3 days for mine to reduce to tiny bump.

Good Luck.

I don’t think this will help immediately BUT I started using the Clairsonic Cleanser about 2 years ago. My skin hasn’t ever looked better. I use Neutrogena acne cleaners with the clairsonic & Neutrogena acne toner afterwards followed by DDF moisturizing lotion. It is the best investment I have ever made for my skin. It would help prevent breakouts in the future. I have the Mia, purchased around $120.
