- Wedding: June 2012
So this Thanksgiving weekend, we decided to take the guys suit shopping at Moores since all the FI’s family would be together, and FI’s parents live in a small town in the middle of nowhere, and may not be back int the city before the wedding. We had fully intended to purchase 3 suits.
As we walked in, we were approached by a saleswoman. She asked when the wedding was, and she told us we were shopping way too soon, and should not be even looking yet. We told her we wanted to shop when we had the guys together, and the inlaws were in the city. She then went on to say that they are having a sale next week, and we should come back then. We again reiterated that we wanted to look now while they were in the city and could she please help us.
She reluctantly started showing us options and told Fiance that they had nothing in his size before she even measured him up. Future Brother-In-Law started picking up jackets and just trying them on, and the lady freaked out at him, saying they weren’t his size. She wasn’t willing to help us, so what else were we to do?
The B*tchy sales lady then announced that she has better things to do and can’t help us. We all stood in shock and couldn’t believe what we just heard. So another sales rep came along and asked if we needed help. I expressed to her how incredibly rude the other associate had treated us, and asked if she could assist us.
As the b*tch saw that we were talking to someone else, she announced so the whole store could hear, “These people are just looking. They are not purchasing today”. Again, we were in shock. What had we done to this lady to make her so rude?
The other associate was very helpful, and got the guys to try on a few options. We decided what we wanted, but after the treatment we recieved at the beginning of the trip, we decided not to make a purchase, but write down the info to go to another store.
After having a bad customer service experience when I went dress shopping, and now this, the lack of customer service really has me upset. This is not exclusive to the wedding industry either. What ever happened to common courtesy? The retail industry is suffering due to increasing online sales and can’t allow this to continue. What is your worst customer service experience?
