(Closed) Worst Date Ever

UGH! WB ate my response. 🙁

Long story short and many years ago, one of my worst dates was from a dating contest on the radio. I called in at first because I was frustrated with the lack of dating pool. So, the DJ suggested we do a dating game show thing and the next day I chose from 3 callers he (the DJ) filtered.

It was a couple days later or week later or something and the date SUCKED. The guy would not talk about *anything* and only gave me a one or two word answer to any questions. I kept bringing up all these different topics but the most he said was that he didn’t expect me to be so pretty (and I’m nothing really major attractive). So, I just ended up asking him if he wanted to know anything about me. He said nope and that’s when I suddenly fell ill with a headache. 😉

I left a coupla minutes after that and he offered me some aspirin, saying he didn’t mind waiting until they kicked in/my headache got better so we could finish the date.

Haha, I declined and went a crazy way home just in case he was pyscho and was following me.

So, I called the radio DJ the next shift and said the date was awful. The DJ and I ended up talking a little bit more and we actually started dating!!! Haha, totally my claim to fame and I thought it was hot, lol. Obviously didn’t work out but it was fun while it lasted! 🙂

I on-line dated for awhile (actually how I met DH). I used to be very careful and limit my time with anyone that I met. So for instance, I wouldn’t make a dinner date the first time out, because it could be awkward in person. I would just meet for drinks after work usually during the week, so that I had a good excuse to leave early if it was a terrible date. However, this one guy I talked to back and forth for a very long time. We got along quite well, but because of work schedules we had trouble scheduling a time to meet.

He was aware of my dating rules, but one night we both ended up in a city at the same time (We both traveled a lot for work) and so when he asked me to spend an entire night with him I agreed. He told me to bring a nice cocktail dress with me on the trip and so I did. He came to pick me up at my hotel and he looked great. We got into a taxi and this is when he told me that he was not in town for business, but for a wedding. Our first date he took me to a wedding. I met his entire family as it was his cousins wedding. Totally nuts and horribly awkward.

 @aliavenue: Yeah, it was really weird how it all unfolded. I saw him because of his work’s website bio but he never saw me. So, we e-mailed a few times (sent him my photo) and met at this charity baseball game he was covering. It was a summer fling (not very sexual, I’m not a loosey-goosey) but it was so much fun. I thought I was hot stuff for dating a “famous” person in my small-ish hometown. He was really funny and super attractive to me but several years older (I wasn’t even 19 yet) so when I went off to college, we didn’t make a go of it.

@mwitter80:  Oh geez. Haha, that must’ve been very awkward. I probably would’ve been ticked off as the bride to pay for a “stranger”!

I once met this guy through a mutual acquaintance briefly and he asked for my # so we could go out. I gave him my number and after he picked me up at my house he proceeded to tellme his best friend was going out with us on our date.

The bf was a chick and they were super flirty and touchy feely. It was so awkward I called a friend to come pick me up and bailed after dinner.

@mwitter80:  LOL! That is awkward.

I’ve had my share of awkward dates. I did the online thing for a little while as well and had some strange dates. Usually I did the same thing as the PP and limited my time on the first date so that I could bail but occasionally I would bend the rule if I really liked the guy.

I had talked with this one guy for 2 months on the phone and through emails. We really got along so I was really hoping that there would be some chemistry once we met. We went to the museum which I really liked as a date because even if the date was boring I could at least have interesting stuff to look at. For some reason we ended up in the kids exhibit and he decided to put on the butterfuly and bee costumes meant for kids. I was mortified. I am a huge goof but there was just no chemistry there so anything he did was really annoying.

@aliavenue:  Omg I wish!! The weirdest part was he was a cop. I don’t know I guess I expected a little more from a cop. LoL

Sounds like my morning radio station.  “I Knew It Was Over When:” He and I went out for drinks, we played a little pool…and he started singing with all the female-sung songs.  Like Britney Spears.
