Angela cheated us out of thousands of dollars and we no wedding to show for it. She did not follow through on any of her promises or bookings. She lied to us about so many things and never acknowleged any of our concerns. Do not trust this woman with your money – she is extremely dishonest and manipulative. She advertises that she is in Banff but we found out that she is not even in the country. She advertises that her services are all inclusive, but they are not and she will tack on an extra 20% (and more) to anything you “add” that should have been included in the first place. She should be ashamed of herself. There is a reason why people are not able to leave reviews on the Sweet Occasions Facebook page. She has adjusted the settings because she knows that people will leave honest reviews that are not in her favor. Dealing with her has been one of the worst & most stressful experiences of our lives.

I understand you’re frustrated, but this review is a little bit vague. It may help you, and future potential clients of the business, to include specific examples of what was not delivered on.

jj24 : What pp said.
Also I am across the world but a quick google search revealed quite a few bad reviews since 2015. Did you do your research? Also most of the good reviews are kind of similar including the names.

I did a quick google search and found the same thing as PP. Also, one of the planners claims she’s a celebrity wedding planner on their website. That’s a red flag considering there are no celebrity weddings on her website.

victoriad : Literally nothing was delivered on. As in, she just took our money and did not book any services.

j_jaye : I saw the reviews on weddingwire and there were only one or two negative reviews at the time, but nothing like what I had gone through, until now. Unfortunately I missed the reviews on Yelp and some of them are actually kind of “hidden”. On Yelp you need to click on the link that says “other reviews that are not currently recommended” in order to see them. But you are right about the good reviews being similar. I noticed that they are written in a similar way to the way Sweet Occasions tries to market their services (ie- Stree-free wedding). They are almost written like an advertisement from their website. Kinda fishy now that you mention it. Hindsight is always 20/20… I feel like an idiot.

How much money did this person take from you? Are you pursuing legal action?

So sorry that happened to you. If you used a credit card you can do a charge back to try to get your money back.

This should go to the Better Business Bureau instead of a wedding website where the chances are miniscule to none that any of us would have used them or even heard of them. The BBB can help much more effectively.

theatrejulia : I’ve already spoken to the BBB about it. There is nothing they can do. All they do is either just post a review or a complaint on their website and the company has an opportunity to respond to it. They can’t hold anyone accountable for anything or pursue any type of legal action. The whole point of my post is to warn others not to use them.

kristin36890 : PP must have deleted their post?? I’m not sure what you are referring to. I did look up reviews but the worst ones have only come up since AFTER i initially booked with her and sent her money. Now there are several posts from people who have had a similar experience…

jj24 : Nothing was delivered on like what?? Can you give specifics? When is your wedding supposed to be? How much did you pay? Whatdid she promise that she didn’t deliver on etc etc. I’m sure your complaint is valid but you aren’t giving us (or any potential future brides who made Google search her) anything to go off of. At any rate, I hope you’re able to have the wedding of your dreams.

Just fyi – sites like theknot and wedding wire does not necessarily have real reviews. Anyone can set up an account and posts positive and negative reviews. I learned this the hard way. For every bad reviews I see, there seems to be another 3 great reviews the next day. It seems like the vendor is trying bring up their rating.
Do your research on vendors and if you got a bad feeling/vibe, just don’t book them.

i would file a complaint with your credit card that services weren’t delivered. i hope you paid with a credit card.
we had a no-show vendor. i filed a complaint and was refunded the money.
otherwise, i would talk to a lawyer about legal action.
