@abirdword:  I’ve never received a bad gift from him. However, to this day, he still hasn’t offered me flowers, and I’m more than hinting it to him, I’m basically reminding him everytime we pass by a florist. Boooh !

@abirdword:  One Christmas, Fiance gave me VINEGAR & MATCHES.

I’ll be honest, I was kind of pissed.

In fairness, balsamic is one of my favorite flavors, and I was going through tons of candles at that time. Still… he is trying to live it down.

He’s a great gift giver now. The next birthday gift was a decanter from Tiffany!

@abirdword:  I try very hard to accept everything DH gives me graciously…

With that being said…The very first Christmas we spent together, he got me a pair of gold hoop earrings with a silver dolphin through them. I’m not a huge fan of yellow gold and my passion is really Orca’s (which a lot of people just pass off with dolphin gifts) but I smiled and hugged him and thanked him anyway.

The bad part is that I wore them to be nice… but because they weren’t real they broke my ears out in the awful rash and my lobes were so swollen. They took weeks to get back to normal.

They are still sitting in my jewlery box! 🙂 He tried!

@Kwhoa:  I’m sorry… I laughed so hard when I saw vinegar and matches! Oh goodness that’s great!

@abirdword:  One year he got me a stack of those decorative gift boxes that you open up and candy is inside.  The candy was really awful and what am I going to do with a three-foot tower of boxes …. ?  I was … not impressed.  I spent over $150 that year on him and was like um.  So after that we have discussed price ranges lol

He got me a fancy watch.  I hate watches — I NEVER wear them.  But he gets pissy that I don’t wear it.  Hmm.  I should probably locate it… :/

@LiliKitty:  bahahahahahaha!

My husband is terrible at gift giving but nothing too horrifying. We told each other we would not give each other gifts and then I found something awesome and ordered it. I was going to surprise him on Christmas but spilled the beans. I told him he didn’t need to get me anything but he insists now. Everything I suggest to him for me is boring though.

@LiliKitty:  Oh my gosh I didn’t know they made prank boxes. Yes!! That is awesome!

These are all great. It seems like everyone can laugh about them now.

There are a couple gifts Fiance has given me that I’ve had to shelf- like a tank top that is way way too small (it must’ve been child size or something- I couldn’t even get an arm into it) and a necklace that was too heavy for me and kind of made my skin break out where it sat on my neck. I feel guilty for not wearing them since I know he tries really hard!

Our first dating Christmas he didn’t get me a present, instead he had taken a gift his mom got me and claimed it as his own gift to me. Yeah not very understanding on the whole gifting process. He’s gotten better, not that I really care about the gifts, it was just really funny.

Future Mother-In-Law got me a soap set and I had never gotten a gift like that before. At first I took it as I smelled, which I found odd because everyone always complimented my purfume. Then I found out that she bought everyone that Christmas a soap set.

The Christmas that my fiancé proposed to me, I opened a wireless router from him. I got a ring later, but I still tease him about that!

@Nona99:  +1 some people are just so wrapped up in “ettiquette” bullshit they don’t know how to have fun.

@abirdword:  I haven’t really gotten a bad gift. I got a waffle maker once when I was really hinting that I wanted makeup. I was a little disappointed, but I made some pretty tasty waffles a few times.

@mrspinesol:  Whenever someone starts throwing the “Classy” word around..I question if they themselves have any class at all….
