she didn’t do the makeup even remotely similar to the picture! There is no thick eyeliner in the inspiration pic, it’s a plum-y shade or brown shade of eyeshadow, with light fluttery lashes and a really light smoky wing. If you want to recreate this look yourself, you can use the tartelette matte palette, any gel eyeliner with a soft brush to get that light wing effet, a nude/white color pencil in the waterline and light fluttery lashes like ardell wispies. For your eyebrows she went way too dark, you would need a shade similar to soft brown from anastasia beverely hills.
You are so gorgeous and your everyday makeup makes you look flawless! I have no idea what she did!
if you would like to recreate this look yourself, I can give you as step by step on how to get it!

kaycost: Whoa…. What…. the…
WOW. I would bring these pictures to show your next makeup artist.
I’d lose the deposit and get another artist ASAP! That looks absolutely horrible on you! You’re SO gorgeous and stunning, why did she do your makeup like you’re a preteen who got into their mother’s cosmetic bag? I don’t understand this at all. You have SO much to work with and they just blew it.
I’d even fight for my deposit. This was really not worth the money hun.
I am so sorry! You’re so beautiful. Those last pictures were really horrible. You’re still beautiful, but the comparison is shocking.

I vote for no makeup. The first picture you posted is the best! You are beautiful Bee!

Holy crap thats bad.
Lose the deposit and start over. I stalked IG to find makeup artists in my area with LOTS of examples of work so maybe try that?

And THIS is why trial runs exist. Bee, I would forget about the deposit and run. You are so flippin’ gorgeous, any makeup artist has a LOT to work with, and my 6 year old nephew could have done a better job.
Next time, tell the MUA that you know it’s a wedding and you need staying power, but that you want a “no makeup” makeup look. Or get a girlfriend in-the-know to do your makeup. I’ve done the makeup of every bride I know for their wedding (ok, only 5, but still)…you don’t have to be a makeup artist to do a good face. Best of luck, pretty lady.

Oh, my. I’m sorry but that is just bad. Save yourself the stress on your wedding day and find another makeup artist STAT. Does she really run her business this way? Gives her customers attitude when they say they don’t like something? I’d demand my deposit back!

Oh! I love your face! I wish I got to do your make up! I’M no MUA but my everyday MU would look even better on you 😍😍😍
Post # 38
I’m so sorry! Yea I would say goodbye to the deposit and find someone else. She didn’t do you justice at all. You are naturally gorgeous!

You are such a pretty girl and that makeup is terrible! Ugh, I’m sorry Bee. Go anywhere else, and it will be better than that.

Did you go through a reputable salon? I would take the pictures to the manager and ask for another trial because you are not happy and even when you pointed out what you did not like the MUA could not satisfactorly fix the error. If they refuse I would ask for a refund. If they refuse the refund just cut your losses and find someone else.
-The eyes may be dark in the pic but she did not even try to replicate the application. Your artist lined the entire upper and lower lid in black. In the pic, the uppers are black and the lower outside half is brown. And the lower fades from brown to gold and there is no evidence of shading in your liner. Same with the shading on the uppers. She just drew one solid black line.
-I do not know why she drew your brows so dark the pic has a soft natural brow
– The makeup in the pic is full coverage with highlighting and contouring. Your MUA didnt even try to nail that look.

Hahahahaha oh my god! I was scrolling away thinking “Girl is just upset that she doesn’t look like the model. No makeup artist can change your bones.” And then I get down to your photo, that is BAD. My dog could do a better job than that.

Lokie85: +1 to all of this.

Wow I’m sorry you had to pay for that. It is horrible! I would talk to them about coming in to do another trial that you don’t have to pay for because it looks awful and see if they can do it right this time. If not lose the deposit or see if they will refud it. Any good makeup artist would say that they did an awful job.

She added 10 years to your face! I would complain so hard. Do not leave till they give you a refund. Then leave a review for this woman. Don’t let other brides go to her!

Thank you bees! You not only reassured me that I need to take action, but also made me feel better about myself! I emailed the MUA the following:
After I left the trial yesterday I have to say I was extremely disappointed with my final look. I keep going back to the photos, and I have shared them with others who agree the final look is far from what I want to look like on my big day. I included pictures to show you what I mean.
<insert pictures that I posted on this post showing how I normally look, my inspiration, and how she made me look>
I think it’s shocking when you look at the photos one after another and it’s evident that you aren’t able to complete my ideal wedding day look.
At this point, I would like both my deposit and your trial fee returned. I wish I felt like there was a chance we could make this work or get closer to my vision, but I’m not confident that’s possible. I think it would be best if I started looking elsewhere for hair and make up services.
The owner of the company (not the MUA I used) called me profusely apologizing and told me there are a couple of options, but encouraged me to come in and let her do a repeat trial herself (no charge, obviously). They’re a reputable company with lots of reviews and gorgeous pictures and I’m going to bring lots of pictures, so I’m hopeful that it will be better. If not, I will definitely move on and not commit to anyone until I have a trial that I love. I’ll be going on Sunday so I’ll post pictures when I’m done! Keep your fingers crossed for me..
