- Wedding: March 2013
I seem to be having THE WORST time with vendors. If anyone read my previous post, our jeweller was a real thorn in my side. They took weeks to give me a price on my wedding band, told me they knew I would hate what I wanted, etc..
So – being the free market girl that I am, I chose to give my business to a jeweller who made me feel like a valued customer. I found a ring I loved (turns out I didn’t hate what I wanted after all!) and purchased my ring elsewhere.
Unfortunately, prior to having these issues, I purchased my FI’s wedding band at the jeweller where he bought my engagement ring. This was 6 weeks ago. Fiance has a career that does not give him ANY time off right now, so we went band shopping way early to get it out of the way since we knew he wouldnt have any close to the wedding. I paid for the ring in full the day we ordered it, since we live hours away and I was not sure I would be the person picking it up when it came in.
To give background on this jeweller, it is an independant business. It is THE jeweller to go to. They are hoity toity and arent afraid to let you know it. It is absolutely no exaggeration to say that it is the poshest jewellery store for at least 500 miles. I *thought* incorrectly that would mean great service.
When I was having problems getting a price on a band for myself I verified with the owner that FI’s ring had in fact been ordered. He said he would check and call me back. When he called me back he informed me that it indeed had been and that they were expecting it in the next day or two. We are now at six weeks. I called to see when it would be in and was informed that it was never ordered. They didnt write down the style he wanted so they set it aside (and never called in spite of having our number). The owner clearly lied to me. Fiance cannot ring shop right now. I am livid. I got a refund but that doesnt change the fact that I was misled and Fiance has no ring.
That was long. If you actually read this far – hero cookie to you!
