Definitely McDonald’s.  The job itself wasn’t bad at all, I actually enjoyed it. The customers were seriously abusive though.

My last job before the one I’m in now (which I love). I was a Receptionist for a sporting company. It was a small office and they were a very tight group, or at least I assume so. From day 1 they made me feel like an outsider. They wouldn’t talk to me, even when I would go up and try to start a conversation. I would come in the morning and say loudly “Good morning!” and it would be dead silence. I was totally ignored all day, every day.

A few of the people would even “train” me on things wrong just so I would look bad. I was constantly being told different things and they treated me like I was stupid. It was the longest 5 months of my life.

The people were nasty and rude. One day I was feeling really sick, thought I was going to throw up. I asked to go home and was told no, to stick it out. I waited a couple of hours and told them I really wanted to leave. I was told “Go make yourself throw up, you’ll feel better”. I was so angry by that comment I said “No, I’m sick and I’m leaving” and got up and went home.

I remember one morning I forgot to unlock the boardroom (which I did every morning) because the phone was busy really early. They threw a total fit. God forbid they had to unlock a door themselves! LOL.

Anyways, they finally let me go because it “wasn’t working out” and I was SO relieved. I was on the verge of quitting but hadn’t because my family was trying to tell me to stick it out. I’m SO glad I’m not there anymore.

OMG. Cold Stone Creamery.

I worked there for nearly two years when I was in my late-teens and it was awful. The boss was basically a female Mr.Krabs (from spongebob)and her daughter was the manager and did whatever she wanted. Plus all the kids I worked with were like 16 and all they talked about was high school and sex. (I kid you not!) Plus, we had to sing every time we got a tip and no one would sing but me! 🙁

Oh… and I gained like…20 pounds from eating the ice cream all the time. 😛

@Linz1231:  I still work in customer service, but it’s nothing like dealing with the customers that would go to McD’s!  Working in fast food it seemed that people liked to think you’re beneath them because you “can’t get a real job” and that makes it ok for them to verbally and (believe it or not) physically abuse you.

I have had 3 jobs my entire life and I don’t think I ever hated them. I loved all of them. The only reason why I left is because there’s wasn’t any more room for me to grow. Although I must say that my last job I hated the ppl I worked with, but that didn’t affect how much I loved my job.

“Walking telemarketer”, hands down. It was one of those mall kiosk deals where we were trying to get people to sign up to win a free home security system. It was the absolute worst job ever. Having to approach people in the mall and get them to listen to your spiel is no easy feat. After a while I just started making up names & contact info to stuff the entry box. I’m sure the owners loved getting entries from “Phil McCrackin” and “Ivanna Blowie” (I was like 17! Lol). Eventually I learned that the “free” home security system was anything but free. The system itself was comped but installation was like $1k+ and the “winner” wasn’t made privy to that information until it was basically too late. I didn’t feel right deceiving all of these cute little senior citizens who would enter so when they’d fill out their entry, I’d toss it. The company I worked for didn’t care about screwing them over but I did. Apparently they weren’t scamming enough people so one day when I showed up to work, the kiosk was gone. None of us ever got our last paycheck. Assholes.

I worked in CS for a long time too (Blockbuster head office). I’m sure McD’s is bad too, but there was nothing worse than a Blockbuster customer. Screaming, swearing, threats daily. It was brutal.

I had a summer job where I had to gut live lobsters all day. Precious!

Oh and working for this married couple who refused to train me. At the end I just sat there filing my nails and told the wife “If you’re not going to train me just fire me because I have no idea what I’m doing here.”

The husband felt bad for me (his wife was horrible) and gave me unemployment, I took the summer off and drank my face off every night. Ah to be 20 again.

@Lyndzo:  One customer tried to run me over with her car because she said I “pissed in her coffee”, another threw a dart at my neck because he thought I was going to charge him for water (not that it matters, but I wasn’t planning on charging), another threw tartar sauce covered cheese in my face because someone in the grill decided to be a smartass and put way too much cheese on her sandwich, another tried to climb over the counter and attack me because she said our fries didn’t taste like Burger King’s fries…. I could go on, and on, but please don’t think I don’t know what it’s like to be threatened, screamed at, and assaulted at work!

Victoria’s Secret.

Straightening up thousands of pairs of panties every single night sucked hard. You were basically strip-searched every night to make sure you weren’t stealing anything, and they constantly harped on you to sell credit cards. They teach you to keep asking until the customer had said ‘no’ 3 times. I hated mentioning it even once, so half the time I wouldn’t do it. I didn’t get a single line of credit opened up in 6 months.

@MissBoPeep:  OMG that’s insane, you win. I wonder where these insane people come from? It’s like a bus comes, unloads these people in front of fast food joints.
