*growl* If married CFBC couples aren’t “real families”, why are they granted very real rights in regards to one another that essentially put their partner’s interests above those of any blood relatives? Why do unmarried partners only have rights in relation to their biological children and not each other by default?? The presence of offspring or a “family line” clearly does not dictate the formation of a family in the eyes of the law, FFS. I’m sorry you’ve had to deal with such ignorance. What a pain in the ass!

This is a fabulous thread, I have laughed and gasped my way through all your posts. Read a bunch aloud to my fiancée and she laughed in horror too.
Interestingly, in my experience, few people tend to give unsolicited marriage advice to lesbians.

HA! Interesting—I don’t know if your should feel offended or relieved by that, lol. I mean, I suppose the majority of the terrible marriage advice out there has to do with outdated customs and views regarding what to do to keep Thine Lord and Master content and sleepy enough that he doesn’t behead you one fine morning, so….yeah, I can understand why your situation would baffle whatever ill-designed, hetero-normative computing machine spits out these awful ideas.
Maybe we’ll get terrible marital advice for lesbians in a couple of decades? #progress
