This is strange because nothing about the venue, food or music was bad. It was the circumstances. The Bride rushed the whole thing because her mother was dying of cancer, and she wanted her mother to see her get married. It was so sad to see her mother wheeled down the aisle in a wheelchair, she wasn’t having one of her good days, and was slumped sideways.

The MOB couldn’t make the reception. The bride’s sister who was Maid/Matron of Honor, cried during her speech. All the guests knew why the wedding had been pushed through, and there was an aura of sadness, not happiness.

The groom was my husband’s boss, and he was that kind of guy who was never big on getting married, but he went along with it all. They went on their honeymoon, and had to come home early because the MOB died. The marriage lasted about 2 years.

DanaWeddingGuest:  Wow.. that is so, so sad.  Probably the worst story I’ve heard.  🙁  Heartbreaking.  I wonder if she is still glad she rushed it to have her mom there that day.

SaraJeanQ:  I wonder, as my husband is no longer at that job. Though the bride might have wanted her mother at her wedding, it seems the circumstances indicated it was not meant to be.

Looking at it now, I think they would have broken up in a year or 2, if they hadn’t gotten married. Well they broke up in 2 years, anyway!

Another thing that was off-putting about the reception, was, the bride was moving to NJ from PA after the wedding, as the groom’s business was in NJ. At the reception, the bridesmaids put the bride in a chair, and did a song and dance to “Jersey Girl”, getting in her face, and clutching her shoulders. It was like, they thought NJ was such a dump compared to where they lived in PA.
