I don’t know how I should be feeling right now. Those of you who are ttc especially for a while now know how much time and effort we are putting into getting pregnant (temping, charting, reading our cm, opks, green tea, preseed etc). Last month I was really bummed out about bfn and told Darling Husband this cycle we would bd everyday I’m fertile. I even put it on our calendar. We both want this badly. However, I was so upset tonight because we went to do it and he couldn’t perform because he has decided to quit smoking (which is amazing) so he was having withdrawal and couldn’t focus. Now, he’s been trying to quit for months now, and has been off of cigarettes and onto gum for two months. He decides today to stop the gum. I’m really proud of him for doing this, I just wish he didn’t choose my fertile window to do it. But what can I do? I feel like a huge bitch for being upset, he just doesn’t get how much effort I put into this every month. Grrrr sorry for the vent.

Performance anxiety. Poor guy. But guess what? He knows it and will likely surprise jump you soon when he’s “up” for it, or it will work out tomorrow. Surprise him first thing in the morning maybe? Most guys love morning sex. If your fertile window is just starting, you still have at least 4 days to get it on. 🙂

His timing sucks, but it will be well worth it. Qutting smoking will be one of the best things he ever did for himself and you and any kids you wil have. Try to be as supportive as possible!

PPs are both right. Be patient. He is doing something very good for himself, you, and your future babies. Good luck 🙂

Sorry you guys are having a tought month. One piece of advice, don’t share anything he doesn’t absolutely need to know. Let him think you are having sex just because you want to. I know it’s tough because you want to share everything with him, but temps/charts etc can be pretty overwhelming to a guy and may give him anxiety.

@Max04092010: I understand your feelings, you can definitely get a BFP even if you do it just a few times during your fertile window. My Darling Husband was sick during a peak fertile day and we weren’t able to BD. I thought we were out because we didn’t do it everyday but I got the BFP anyway and we are 18 weeks along with our little girl now! GL!
