I am dying of laughter!  I hope I can add to this soon!  My Fiance and I are not doing a registry because we may move across country a month after the wedding… I may have something to add to this thread, but in a year!

luv2shop08- that is actually a really sweet gift!  In the movie Its a Wonderful Life, Jimmy Stewart/George Bailey and his new wife are given a loaf on bread so they’ll never go hungry and salt so their lives will always have flavor.  Someone put thought into that gift, but you’d have to have seen the movie to get it.

I don’t have a picture of it because DH and I are moving 13 hours away, to our new home, this weekend. Our camera and all of our wedding presents are sitting in boxes at the moment. I’m also pretty sure that DH “flushed” it when packing up all our gifts.

It looked like one of those fake dog poops from a prank shop, but made of yarn. It was framed in a shadow box with a glittery background. I googled it (which was a weird experience) and this is pretty close to what it looked like:

@kkish3:  It most certainly was. It was framed in a shadow box that was about 6 inches deep.

My DH was the one who unwrapped it and he was speechless for the first time in his entire life.

@OohShiny:  hahahaha this is cracking me up….I can’t even fathom what my Fiance and I would do if we opened up something like that.

I think the thing on this thread that has made me laugh the hardest – even more than the Japanies grannies with the fertility rat – is the thought of you Googling “crocheted poop.”

I can just hear the interior monologue:

‘Okay, here we go … how many results? … Oh, yeah: Images … Oh, my GOD! …”

@OohShiny:

I just woke up my poor fiance laughing at the poop picture.  Did the person who gave it to you offer any explanation?

We got a pancake warmer.It looked like what tortillas are served in at a restaurant, but with holes in the top and was white/ceramic. It was clearly a regift and came with no tag. The person who gave it to us was probably too embarrassed to own up! :-p

Just saw the crocheted poop.OMG. I kind of want to get one of those to give to DH as a decoy birthday gift(and then get him something legit in addition) 🙂

For the record, the fertility rat and birthing rope are proudly on display in our living room.  Despite their oddity, they (along with the other, more normal gifts we received from the Japanese folks) are some of my most treasured gifts from the wedding.  My grannies are awesome.  <3
