@Mrs. Doily: That one is unique – at least everything else was new!
We just passed the first shower and I think the oddest was a single cereal bowl with two spoons that said his and hers. I love my Fiance very much, but I am not about to share cereal from the same bowl with him.

@BearcatBetch: haha. I would love that :p

For my bridal shower one friend got me size small (I’m a large) Victoria’s Secret panties that clearly weren’t new. I promptly threw then away when I got home. The worst wedding gift was a hideous picture frame from a store 2 hours away. I’m going to try to sell it on ebay.

Also, I’m in love with this thread!

Yucky cookies. I never thought someone would really give us a weird gift, but those were terrible! And an odd wedding present to begin with.

Haha! Some of these are so random. I wonder what people are seriously thinking when they give these gifts.
I am not married yet, and don’t expect any gifts. But for my first baby shower a friend of FI’s gave me some post it notes and a bottle of soda in a bucket. She’s a little odd. For Christmas once, she gave us a can of corn and some cookies.

@red_pepper_gal: This is the second time I’ve seen this in one night from you and all I can think is Ew! Shared cereal!? All that slurping and slobbering! LOL!

I know this gift was well intentioned (it was given to us at our engagement party), but someone gave us a triple crock pot. It’s this massive gadget that plugs in and it has three full-sized LARGE crock pots sitting next to each other. I don’t know if this is common elsewhere, but I’ve never seen something like this before nor heard of it. And considering that we were in New Jersey when we received it and we live in Florida, plus we have just enough counter space for a tight squeeze on a toaster we don’t even have the dang thing in our apartment.
I mean I just don’t know if this is common to be found in most people’s kitchens.
Here’s a link to what it is. That thing is huge in person.

These are so awesome! I have no good stories yet!

My sister-in-law received regifted measuring cups. How did she know they were regifted? The newly wed couple who gave them to her forgot to take the original congrats card out of the box that was addressed to them. HAHAHAHA!

@maudemaisha: You pay for shipping and you can have it! I won’t use it. 🙂
@stardust: I think the triple crock pot is supposed to be for when you’re having parties. Maybe the person is hinting. :p
@MsJ2theZ: I suppose I shouldn’t complain as it was very nice for the person to buy me a shower gift in the first place, but I’m just not a cutesy person. I even registered for two glasses for our bathroom so Fiance and I didn’t share.

@star_dust: I wouldn’t call it common, but I do have a couple friends who have one of those and they love it! It’s most useful if you do a lot of cooking for potlucks and such though (they’re a pastor and his wife is the church secretary), and if you have the counterspace, haha.
I’ve only had my bridal shower and a couple of gifts shipped to my house, and so far everything has been off our registry or something personal that they knew we’d love (and we do). I’m sure we’ll get something odd at the wedding though!

A distant relative who added their mother to the RSVP (who wasn’t invited) showed up with an old re-gifted crystal vase…..that was broken.
Oh and that added on mother that we didn’t invite, she didn’t even show up! Pissed me off!!!
