i’m so sorry. put a framed picture somewhere at the wedding. i’m not sure if you’re having memorial candles, but that would be a good place.

I’m so sorry for your loss…what a beautiful dog though! And I’m sure you have many happy memories of him and I’m sure he appreciated you that much more since you rescued him.

I’m so sorry about your dog.  He was lucky to have a family who loved him so much, and I’m sure you gave him a happy life.

I’m so sorry for your loss.  Didn’t someone use pics of their dog to hold the numbers on the table?  you could do something like that?  I am really sorry you’re going thru this.

I’m very sorry for your loss. If you find you’re still struggling for your pain after a few weeks, grief counseling is an option. There are therapists who specialize in pet loss. I was so depressed and guilt-ridden after my cat’s sudden death few years ago, the only way I could cope was counseling for three months. To a lot of people a pet’s just an animal, they die, it’s sad, you get over it. It affected me a lot more than that and I needed someone to talk to who wouldn’t think I’m crazy. It definitely helped me being able to talk and cry about it unabashedly to someone who’s paid to listen to me. After that I felt ready to have pets again. Now I have two new cats who I love to pieces. I still miss my baby who passed away all the time , but I can think of him with a smile now rather than pain.

Just time.  We had to do the same thing in the spring of 2009.  To my mom, that dog was her son.  My sister and I had both moved out so it was a very hard change for her.  She still hasn’t been able to get another dog.  My sis and I drove eight hours home to say good bye to him.

I’m so sorry you had to go through that. He was adorable. My childhood dog was put down last summer.

To honor her at our wedding, I bought a frame charm that I will be putting her picture in along with two more frames I got for my grandfather and grandmother. The three charms will be hanging in my bouquet. The girls have made some great suggestions here. I’m sure anything you choose will be appropriate.

Stay strong
