@toelopeornottoelope:  I’m 5’1, and 5 pounds makes a huge difference on me. It’s not a whole clothing size, but it’s the difference between pants fitting tightly or loosely for sure.

I’m 6’1″, so it takes about 15 pounds to make any sort of visual impact with weightloss. I guess the upside of that is that I can gain almost 15 pounds without anyone really noticing!

5 lbs made all the different in how my clothes fit and people telling me I look like I lost weight. I’m almost 5’6″, so it has a lot to do with your height and build.

I don’t think you should go by weight but by measurements, especially if you want to tone up your arms. Losing 5 pounds doesn’t mean you will lose it from your arms.

@lolot:  Im 5’2″ and 5lbs makes a HUGE difference for me. Im currently 115 and would like to be closer to 105-108 because I have very small bone structure. The extra 5-10lbs that I have put on since high school is really noticable. But thats just me.. I have been doing Jillian Michael’s 30 day shred and so far the results have been great! ๐Ÿ™‚

For me it is noticable because I’m already smaller to begin with and all my clothes start to get loose and baggy. For a larger person 5 pounds may not be so noticeable

You can’t spot train…like you can’t JUST lose your belly. Most likely you’ll also lose fat from your breast and butt as well. However, if you want toner arms, you need to work them! Weight lifting will tone them to a certain extent, but you’ll need to then start cutting to see definition. I don’t do that. I just do push ups, lift weights, and I love it!  Do push ups and one arm over the head triceps.

I’m kind of on the fence with my answer.  Nobody else is going to notice if you gain or lose 5 pounds But you will notice. I’ve lost around 5ish pounds in the last couple weeks and I can now put on my tight jeans with more ease. They’re still tight, I just don’t have to do the squat dance to get them on.

I’m 5’3, small framed, and took before and after pictures of losing 6lbs at one point and the difference was absolutely incredible.

@toelopeornottoelope:  this depends on how much you weight. i weight 200lbs, so a 5lb weight loss isnt noticeable. but on someone whoe weights 120, it def would be

Short answer: yes. If you are under 5’3″ 5 llbs will look like 10 on taller people.

Long answer: how noticible depends on where you gain weight. Sadly, I gain first in my stomach and boobs, so if I gain even 3 llbs, my pants start to get tight. ๐Ÿ™  If you gain in your thighs/butt, people are less likely to notice the extra pudge.

I’m 5’3 and was about 114 lb. I’ve been under a lot of stress and people started asking what I’d been doing to myself (!) so I got myself weighed and I’m now 107 lb. So I’d say that at my size, 5-7 lbs is noticeable. I have a collared shirt that I couldn’t button the top button up before, but now I can quite comfortably. I’m worried that  I should be holding off on dress alterations until I’m back at normal weight.

@toelopeornottoelope:  Its like a papertowel roll.

If you take one sheet off a full roll, you wont notice.

If you take one sheet off a nearly empty roll, you will notice.

I’m 5’9 so it makes no difference to the eye but I would still rather be down 5lbs than up 5lbs. I need to lose min 15lbs before anyone notices. Unfortunately I lose from top to toe meaning my boobs go but my arse sticks around like a stuborn unwanted freeloading guest.
