Title says it all!
First time poster but been lurking around the boards since we got engaged, stealing lots of little nuggets of advice, so thank you bees for your inspiration! Seeing all the fabulous curvy brides on here is making me feel so much more confident about my day 🙂
I’ve picked my dress but am weighing up veil options just now. Think I’ve ruled out a full length veil as I don’t want to cover the keyhole detail on the back. I ADORE birdcage veils on other people but not sure if it goes with the whole feel of my dress? Also this may sound stupid, but I’m worried it might make my face look even chubbier lol!
Any words of wisdom greatly appreciated! Any brides who have worn birdcage veils as well, I would love to see your photos!
I can’t upload a picture of me just now but here’s the stock photo (I’m plus size so imagine a few more curves lol!)
Thank you bees!

I don’t think that dress will work well with a bird cage veil..they are such different looks. But truthfully, the only way to know is to try it on.
I would recommend a very sheer, single layer, simple tulle veil. Your guests will still see the back through the tulle during the ceremony.

I believe a birdcage works for every dress! There are many styles, some more”fancy” and elegant than others, and some are more simple and less dramatic. I think it would be nice to not have a long veil covering the back of the dress, because it is gorgeous!

@Stoich: Thank you for your response! This was my concern too – the dress is nothing like I envisioned for myself but I fell in love with it when I put it on, guess now I’m having to adjust some of my other ideas about accessories etc! May have to try one on like you suggest though, if only to rule it out completely! The simple tulle you described sounds like another good option – the veils I tried on in the bridal shop were very poofy and I felt like they were just too much with the dress! Thanks again 🙂

@HelloRaeven: Thank you for your comment! The back is my absolute favourite part of the dress 🙂 There are just too many options I think, and I’m rubbish at making decisions!

@lkay84: i almost think a bircage would compete with the lace back. two different textures. I guess it would depend on the birdcage style. also, i think a birdcage may look better with a more fitted bottom. the flow of the dress may overpower the birdcage. Beautiful dress btw!

I’m really not sure that type of veil will work with such a pretty dress. I would pair your dress with a flowy type veil.
