Ok, so I originally wanted to wear a birdcage veil, but my mom didn’t really like it and a lady at a bridal store took a quick glance at my dress and said that a birdcage veil would not go well with it. Being the type of person that I am, I just took their word for it but I’ve seen tons of birdcage veils now and I really like them! I already got a veil and tiara, both of which were kind of purchases on a whim. I do like them, but, I think I might regret not having a birdcage veil…. Sooo, now I’m thinking I could wear the regular veil for the ceremony, and the birdcage for like the pictures before hand, and/or the reception. Can anyone give me some ideas on what I should do? Here are pics of my dress and my hair that I’m going to have (side note. I was going to wear my veil like that, but after trying on my dress, I really want it to go over my face so I think I’ll wear it higher up instead now)

I love your gown and I think you can wear a bird cage with it but, I also like the idea of the traditional veil for the ceremony. I have noticed many brides on this site are concerned about the same thing. I think you should all do both – the bird cage worn at the reception retains the finished look you had with the more formal veil ar the ceremony without the awkwardness.
Someone good with French veiling should be able to mimic the lovely draping on your dress, and maybe finish it with some bling.
Good luck with your decision.

Definitely consider being a two-veil bride…like me!
I’m working with Mrs. Sea Breeze to create my dream birdcage veil. Here’s her site!

I just bought the veil from Etsy! I can’t wait! http://www.etsy.com/view_transaction.php?transaction_id=15687521 It has pearls on it and I’m doing a kind of pearls and lace theme, so I’m excited! I’m so glad I did. well, I am right now but we’ll see when I wear it :p
I’m glad you like the dress Carbon Girl! It’s a Sottero and Midgely style VSM7047. Maggie Sottero makes such beautiful dresses! Well, Sottery and Midgely too lol
