I have been tossing this question over and over in my mind..
I really love the Mashed Potato Bar idea!
However, I am getting married in January and was thinking that a Hot Drinks Bar/Area would be nice too. Have like Hot Chocolate & Coffee.
Would they be weird together?

Mmm, mashed potato bar!! What is the format of your reception? If you’re having a buffet-style dinner with stations and are also having a cake-cutting with cake for dessert, I think it would work well to have the potato bar during the dinner and then have the caterer set out the hot drinks bar later in the evening, when the cake or other dessert is being served. No one’s really going to want the hot drinks alongside their dinner, but people will definitely want coffe/tea/hot cocoa/etc after the meal.

Well we are having more of (heavy) hors’devour style reception. We were thinking of having everything out at the same time.

Both sound unbelievably delicious (and not just because of my name)! I don’t think they’d be weird at all, since they both fall under the category of fancied up comfort food.

I think they sound a bit odd together, but if you like it, do it! You just might not want to do them at the same time ….
