So, I’m 6w4 days today. I’ve had a confirming appointment at my GP, just a urine test. My first appointment with my OB is scheduled for next Monday. Less than a week away – yeah!!! Anyway, I have about 15 of the wonderfo (sp?) tests left and I still take one about every 1-2 days. I think I’m just afraid that I could miscarry and not notice. Is that even possible? Or would I have some spotting, something? I’m a worrier by nature and my Darling Husband really wants me to try to just enjoy this and not overanalyze everything. I’ve had no indication that anything is less than fine, so I want to stop being so neurotic and just enjoy things until Monday, but I thought I’d ask you all for some reassurance. If I had a miscarriage – would I notice? I know many of you have suffered through miscarriages and your stories are heartbreaking. I guess I’m just hoping to learn from your hard earned wisdom on this issue. I’m just afraid that we’ll go to the appointment on Monday and they’ll wonder why I hadn’t already noticed that I wasn’t pregnant anymore. I’m probably just being overly fearful.

@BabyEtobe: First off, congrats! When I miscarried, I started spotting. The spotting was really light and then stopped. one and half/two weeks later, I had the full on bleeding, cramping and eventually passed everything. Because the HCG hormone can linger in your blood, pregnancy tests will still be positive up to a few weeks after a miscarriage. It is completely normal to be anxious and worry about miscarriage in early pregnancy, but it doesn’t happen to everyone. Just try to relax and if your doctor’s think everything looks good, it more than likely is. Good luck!
ETA: If you are miscarrying/have miscarried, you will notice.

@BabyEtobe: I’ve never MCed BUT I have close friends who have and this is what I’ve learned….
1. You will still get a positive on your tests up to 1 week after you’ve MCed because the hormone very slowly depleats:( So, I am so sorry to say but testing daily won’t help a whole lot.
2. You will usually spot and or have bright red blood….
3. One didn’t know she had MCed until her 7.5w appointment where the U/S showed no heartbeat–had she not went, she’d still think she went pregnant because she had no signs.
These are realllllly scary things to think about…..but MCs are never fun. I can iamgine they are HEARTWRENCHING….But then again, you have to have faith! I wish you the best 9 months and a healthy, happy pregnancy!

Thanks ladies. Well, I guess that I will at least quit testing so regularly, as it clearly isn’t going to tell me much! I know that I just need to let go and let God, but I’m not very good at that. Thankfully, Darling Husband is and he’s very patient with me. I’ve had no negative signs, so I’m just going to assume that everything is fine with BabyE until I’m told something else. Thanks for your help!
