I say that if you have tried on the exact style (meaning trumpet, a-line, mermaid, etc) of the “online dress” and seen those types of details in person (not the exact dress, but on other dresses), then go for it!  Try on dresses that come very very close to the one online.  And feel the fabric in person as well.  I know fabric can make a difference for some brides.

From those pics it seems like the two dresses are very similar, and if you’ve tried the first one on and like it you will probably like the other one as well. If I were in your shoes and really had my heart set on the 1555, I would probably just order it. It’s close enough to the other one that you can get a sense of what it’s like!

I agree, I say order it.  The two are definitely very similar and they probably fit the same.  Beautiful dresses!

I say order it!  As long as you have tired on a similar neckline and you know you like it, then I think you’ll love the new dress.  Good luck!

The dresses look so so similar and are from the same designer, that I am tempted to say go for it and order it.  BUT… I almost bought a dress used becuase it looked so similar to one I had tried on and loved and was from the same designer, so I thought it wouldn’t be a big deal, but when I tried it on it actually looked completely different on me than I had expected (and quite different from the similar/same designer dress).  That said, I have heard stories about people that saw their dress in a picture and just knew, ordered it without trying it on, and absolutely loved it.   Can you try and purchase it from a store that has a return policy or would allow you to exhange it?  Or find a place that can order it for you for a fee?  Normally salons will do that and then apply the fee to your purchase should you choose to buy it.

Order it the 2 are SOOO similar and the same designer so it isn’t a far cry from what you’ve already been able to try on.

I bought my gown off ebay after falling in love with it on the maggie website. I was VERY nervous b/c if I didn’t like it, I was still stuck with it! But I loved it! To this day I regret not trying on different styles in a salon just to see. When I watch SYTTD I wonder all the time what I would have looked like in a trumpet, etc…

since it’s the same designer, i wouldn’t worry about ordering without trying on first. most designers make the same dress with very minor changes from season to season, and this looks like the same dress just with a sweetheart neck. very pretty!

That dress is so similar to the one you already have tried on, that I do not think it would be dangerous at all to get it!  The only difference, really, is that it has a sweetheart–and you’ve said that that’s the one feature you don’t like about the dress you’ve already been thinking about getting!  So I say absolutely go for it–just order it in a size big enough that can allow for alterations.

I agree to just order the dress.  I am in a similar situation and have decided to order the dress without trying it on.
