Another vote for strange. How does she feel about this? Performing in competition and in front of strangers is different than a room full of family.

I think it would be really sweet! I would keep it short in case she gets nervous, but I think it would be really lovely!

I personally think it could be pretty awkward, but if you think your family and your daughter will enjoy it, you should do it

My sister-in-law had her Maid/Matron of Honor and daughter do a dance in the middle of the reception and it was super awkward…and boring :/  Then again, it was the same repetitive dance over and over and over again for a 10 minute song…

So if it’s short enough and doesn’t interrupt everyone having a good time it might be okay.

I think it may be a little more awkward than cute. I’m not familiar with the last song you listed but it would be better if she could do it to a love song. Have you already mentioned it to her? If so, will her feelings be hurt if she isn’t able to do it?

As an alternative could you daughter and husband do a special dance to show off her dance skills yet make it more relevant to the wedding?

This is the kind of thing that makes a wedding special…….however a good rule of thumb is keep entertainments to 3 1/2 minutes or less.

This is the amount of time that people can focus before they start to become antsy. Lets face it, not every one enjoys every form of entertainment and you wouldnt want your daughter to feel slighted because some impolite individuals may begin talking or even getting up during her performance.  If if kept to a reasonable time guests will not feel put out and should be able to pay polite attention even if it’s not their cup of tea.

You’re setting a great time limit and having her dance while the dance floor would normally be empty is a great idea.  I am sure it will be beautiful.
