I don’t think that a sash is the best idea, since there are already so many horizontal lines.  Maybe add some color through flowers in your hair?

I agree with primp.. I wouldn’t put a sash on that dress. I would also suggest adding something to your hair if you want something extra.

Sure, I think you could wear a sash with that! Did you try dresses with sashes? I think the wider ones are more flattering than the skinny ones, but it depends on you. It could clash with the ruffles, so maybe go back to the shop and look in person.

I think that because it has those layers on the bottom a sash might work, but it’s so hard to say without seeing it on the dress.  It’s very pretty on it’s own though!

I LOVE sashes! But I would agree with the previous posts that a sash may not be ideal for that particular dress since it already has a lot going on around the bottom. I would try it out though.. in person! Let us know what you come up with! ๐Ÿ™‚

I did a little sash in photoshop. Not sure what colour you want, or what it may look like…. but it could give you an idea!

i wouldn’t add a sash. there are already may horizontal lines in the dress, adding one more might make it too busy.

I think a sash would look super pretty. Ribbon’s not that expensive – buy a length of ribbon in the colour you want, and try it with the dress. If you don’t like it, then I’m sure you can find a use for the ribbon somewhere.

I’m going to go against the trend and say that I think a sash would look nice. Seems to me as though the shaping of the bodice and the dropped waist would be broken up nicely with a little colour. I can see how the horizontal lines could be too much, but I think a sash slightly thicker than the ribbon/satin hems of the ruffles would be in keeping with the general scheme of things.

Like WhiteRoseRed suggested, even a nice length of ribbon will give you a good idea of how it looks, and if you don’t end up using it, it won’t be that difficult to repurpose.

What about dying your crinoline for more color? Or a colored flower on a sash the same color as the dress if you’re worried about lines?
