(Closed) Would the Blazer/Khaki look work with my dress?

My FI’s well dressed uncle said it would look very sharp for all the guys to wear navy blazers and khakis. Our ceremony will be in a garden at 4:30 in late August. Reception will be following in a barn. BM’s dresses are short, royal blue and satin.  Will the navy clash with the royal blue? They couldn’t wear royal blue ties, could they?  My concern is that this look is too informal, despite the setting and time of year, because a) it’s technically an evening wedding, and b) my dress might be too formal. What do you think? What else would you suggest?

Navy is a neutral so I think it might look fine. Royal blue is kind of a bright color so I’d just give it a test run to see how it looks.

Thank you for the replies so far! Does anyone think khakis/blazer are inappropriate for evening – or with my dress, which I don’t think of as “informal”?

I think it would look alright but I personally wouldn’t care for it.
