@littlemisst08:  My sister got married last year and went from having the initials BW to Bridesmaid or Best Man (her last name is now Marksmeier, which I kind of like!) and I don’t think anyone has noticed…it could be much worse though-you could have the initials KKK, which almost happened to my Fiance (thank God his middle name is Russell) and my new initials will be AKK.

i said yes because i work in the medical field and we use the term “BM” all the time.. like multiple times a day. i don’t think most kids would get it though.

only nurses really think of those initials as bowel movement. Bridesmaid or Best Man means a language to me.

There would be so many names that couldn’t go together if everyone worried about the initials! I didn’t even realize what Bridesmaid or Best Man you were referring to until I read someone’s post! Kind of silly to me 🙂

I think of “bowel movement” went I see Bridesmaid or Best Man. I think the idea of always adding a middle initial is great advice if you decide to use Brenna. My husband said he wouldn’t do it.

@littlemisst08:  My cousin is Brittany Marie.  She has always hated it.  I feel so bad for her any time I think about it!  Who wants to be associated with poo right off the bat?!?!

@littlemisst08:  Uh, that seriously never would have crossed my mind. I was actually sitting here wondering what it could mean before I scrolled down and read the answer. I doubt any of her peers (or well, anyone, really) would see her initials and immediately go “haha, bowel movement!”

I’m a nurse, so it would DEFINITELY be a dealbreaker.

Hahaha!  Those are my initials.   Most people don’t think of “bowel movement” when they hear that…except for those in the medical profession.  When I was born 35 years ago, and my mom told the nurse what name to put on the birth certificate in the hospital, she said, “You know what her initials will be?”

By the way, not one person besides that nurse has ever acknowledged it.  Most children don’t know what Bridesmaid or Best Man means so it’s highly unlikely that there would be any teasing.  I certainly never experienced it.
