Definitely not.  Try a regular pick up, pin it to the top of your booty.  I saw a pic of someone with exactly what I’m seeing in my mind in another thread, I’ll see if I can find it for you…

No because your dress doesn’t have the same “lines” in the back as the Mrs. Nacho’s dress did.

I would stick to an american or french. It wont quite work the way you are thinking because of the difference in style and material of the dresses.

I also wouldn’t do a nacho because it will make the middle of your dress filthy πŸ™ I think a “regular” bustle would be gorgeous on that!

Sometimes with lace like that, and depending on how much there is to gather and the weight of the lace, the gown may have to be reinforced somewhere. Our seamstress had to sew on extra small pieces of fabric covered by appliques to hold the weight of my daughter’s lace bustle. There was nowhere to sew a hook onto because of the sheerness of the fabric. She did a three point and it held all night. Her train wasn’t as long as your gown,so she may need to do something else.

On that other link, I wonder why so many seamstresses left the bustles dragging on the ground in the back? I’ve only ever seen a gown bustled so it is the same length all the way around (so no one steps on it and rips it out, and it certainly will keep it cleaner).

A good seamstress will know how to make it lay the best way and not hide the details.

Here’s a link to a bustle done on an all lace dress. See #5. This may work for your dress as well.
