- Wedding: July 2011
Ok, first, a little back story. In the beginning of our wedding planning we were set on doing light gray suits for the guys with dark purple Vans Classics, both of which Fiance really had his heart set on. Then, I got my dress and decided gray would clash (Maggie Sottero – Geneva) and had to change the suits to khaki. Fiance was really disappointed but has since come to terms with it and is OK with the khaki and still stoked about the shoes. (He’s so excited about the shoes that he’s bought a pair to wear between now and then just for fun to get ready for the wedding ).
So, a few weeks ago my girls and I decided on Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses in dark purple, just like we had planned. Unfortunately, when looking at the color of the dresses with the color of his purple shoes, they are very different. The shoes have more blue, while the dresses have more red. Here are the shoes:
I can’t get a good picture of the dress color, even when I take a picture of the swatch I have, it looks completely different on-screen. But, it’s quite a bit different from the shoes. I really don’t want to take FI’s choice of suit and shoes away. He was really bummed the other night when we realized how different they are. And actually, it’s not even the dresses I’m so concerned about, it’s that if we do these shoes, do the guys wear ties to match their shoes or the girls’ dresses? I just don’t want it to look so different that it looks messy. Any thoughts?
