Visible ONLY to those to whom it applies–
“Dear friends. You know I love you all so much, but for those of you who have not yet RSVPed for my shower (deadline past!) or will not in time for the wedding itself, you had better believe that I am looking FORWARD to doing the same when it’s your turn to get married! Love, me.”

I can see where one might have thought it it would be somewhat funny (I guess) but the humor gets lost in translation and it just comes off as rude.

I’m of the opinion that if you need to ask yourself if it’s an acceptable Facebook status, then the answer is almost always no.

If you have friends who have not responded, I think you should just contact them and find out. This is so passive aggressive.

Why resort to their level? Don’t do it.

I wouldnt find it funny at all. Just call them up individually and find out if they can make it or not.

I think any pointed messages as facebook statuses are in poor taste, myself. In theory*, if adults have an issue with someone else’s behavior, they either suck it up or address it directly. They don’t post passive aggressive notes on the internet. 🙂
*At least, this applies on my own private Fantasy Island. Also, people do not fucking TEXT during meals there. 🙂

thanks for giving me a dose of reality. 🙁
(but…perhaps it was at least somewhat mollifying to simply type it on here…)

Sometimes there’s relief to be found just in the imagining. 🙂

this is a joke right? ’cause I’d be smack talking about you like crazy if you did that and I was one of them.

I’m going to go against the grain and say that I found it hilarious – even though I definitely wouldn’t post it. Sometimes you just have to get it out because people suck! 😛

I don’t think it’s OK for you to follow up on RSVPs for a shower on Facebook or with any other medium. The hosts of your shower should do it. If you do it, it sounds like, “Did you know you’re past the deadline to let me know if you’re going to bring me expensive presents?”.
