I think it depends on the style of reception you’re having. If it’s pretty formal, then I think it’d be great! In fact, I’d love a second chance to wear my dress!!

Do it!!  I did it for a small gathering back home (I live across the country from many family members.)  I loved having another opportunity to wear my dress.

@strangewaysherewecome:  I also don’t think it needs to be “done in a ballroom” formal, but at least mailed invitations, some formalities during the party, etc 🙂 Have fun!

I’m having a separate wedding and reception. Ours are only a day apart, but I’m rewearing my dress to the reception!

I have been looking for ways to be able to wear my dress again after we get married. I would jump on the chance!

We’re doing something similar (having a reception-type party a few weeks after we tie the knot), and I’m totally going to wear my dress again!

I say, if your dress matches the setting, go for it. Who wouldn’t want to wear their wedding dress twice? 😉

ETA- Ignore those snarky women and do what you want. It’s your day. The way I look at it is that no matter what you do, there is going to be at least one person who is displeased with one of your choices. Do what YOU want. Rock that dress twice if you want to!

Not at all!! I know people who have done this. I chose not to wear mine…I’m wearing a cocktail dress instead, only cuz I dread the idea of having it cleaned twice…and also I just don’t know if I will be up for wearing it again, no matter how much I love it. But it’s a personal thing…if you feel like putting her on again, go for it! I’m sure everyone will LOVE to see you in it.

every reception I’ve been to after a Destination Wedding the whole bridal party wore their wedding clothes! Absolutely rock it! You’re lucky, you get to wear your dress twice!

My cousin got married in Jamaica when we were on a cruise. She had a big reception about 1.5 months after we got back and she wore her dress. We all wore our Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses and the guys wore the same thing they wore for the actual wedding.
