you should ask your bridesmaids what they think of the dress.  I showed my bridesmaids pictures of 5 dresses I was considering and asked them to rank their choices. They all liked a purple dress from David’s bridal best.  However, some wanted strapless and some wanted straps.  So I let them wear either.  It ended up looking great! I don’t think the dresses have to match exactly, as long as they are the same color and material.

As a top-heavy girl myself, I would be okay with this dress. As long as she has a good strapless bra, she’ll be fine. As far as it slipping down all night, Target and a bunch of other places carry fashion tape, which you can use to basically tape your dress to your bra. I would actually prefer a strapless sweetheart to a straight spaghetti strap. That’s just a tease, since you can’t actually wear a bra with it, anyway. As long as it has enough coverage on top, it should be easier for her to keep it on than someone smaller! But yeah, she’ll have to try on anything you pick, so that shouldn’t be a big surprise (it sucks being chesty, I know, lol) 🙂

@MsTeddy – there are some other sites that have similar dresses and different colors… maybe one of them will have a blue that works!

http://www.henkaa.com – this is probably the next cheapest after VS, and they have a nice slate blue color. $98.

http://www.dessy.com – They call it the Twist Wrap Dress. $140.

http://www.nuovavitaonline.com – $155 for the one that is comparable to the VS one.

http://www.twobirdsbridesmaid.com – more expensive, but offer long dresses and short, short are $270.

We went with VS Convertible Dresses because they were $89 and offered a chocolate brown that worked for our color scheme!

Good luck!
