I think it looks beautiful and wouldn’t have even noticed had I not read the post.. I was staring at it for a while trying to figure out what could possibly be wrong with it.

@mrsmack: My wedding band isn’t as wide as my engagement ring. With mine, you can’t really tell that it’s a different width. I’d say keep it.

I didn’t notice the difference until I read your post. They look like they were made for each other!

My ering also has a large band and it was hard to find a wedding band that fit snug or looked okay against it.  I finally decided to buy two bands (that are thinner and smaller – similar to yours) and wear one on each side of the ering for balance.  Maybe you should consider buying another band and wearing it on the other side of your ering.  It has a very similar look like a ring guard.

I bought two plain bands (no diamonds etc.) and I think it really enhances the ering.  The plain bands were $97 each at iweddingband.com.  Free S&H and free engraving.  You might want to do that if you don’t want to spend an additional $200 for another band.

I think it’s pretty and I’m going to bet that you are the only one that notices the difference. hehe. Really though, I wouldn’t ever return it. They match perfectly.

Sorry to be the only one going against the grain here, but I actually notice what you mean about the mis-matched look and I personally would return the ring. I’m not a huge fan of the fact that the diamonds in the e-ring and wedding band aren’t the same size, and then also the e-ring and wedding band aren’t as wide acrossed the finger. I’m not necessarily a matchy matchy type of person, but it looks to me like this set was an attempt to match that didn’t go right. If I were in your shoes, I would either try to find something that matched better, or something that isn’t necessary trying to match, but looks better against the e-ring. Best of luck!

I think part of the issue is that your finger hasn’t settled into wearing the wedding set.  Your finger kinda shrinks to fit the ring set (much like with your engagement ring).  I remember when I first got my wedding band and wore them together, I was shocked to find that it looked like my finger fat was bulging everywhere and the rings themselves looked like different sizes.  It even caused a bit of a gap between the rings that drove me crazy.  But I remembered your fingers just need to adjust to the rings.  So I wore my wedding set together in the house for about 2 weeks before the wedding so it wouldn’t look weird in wedding pictures.  (I have tapered, chubbier fingers so this is an issue for me but not everyone).  Now my finger is sorta shriveled where the rings sit and they sit flush.  So try wearing the band for a few weeks just at home and see how it looks.

If that doesn’t help, you may want to get your rings sized up or down a quarter size.  The engagement ring will sit higher up your finger after you stack the wedding band and so it could need to be a tiny bit bigger or smaller depending on your finger.  And the same goes for the wedding band – it could need to be a little bigger or smaller depending on your finger.

I have an idea: have the wedding ring sized up again so that it’s wide enough, and then have it fused to the e-ring. that way it won’t matter if it’s too big, and it might actually be more comfortable that way!

either way, you might want to have them fused because it might bug you when they spin out of place and don’t line up.

personally, I think it looks best when both rings are the same width across the finger. I’m in the same shoes with my set. my wedding band is wider than my e-ring. I’m going to have a jeweler thicken the band of my e-ring with some added gold so they match up. I feel like they won’t look right until they do. but that will cost more, since more gold will be needed.
