Overall, I’m trying to make my wedding as nice/classy as possible, while keeping the expenses in check. Part of my method is just doing a ton myself!
For favours, we’re thinking of doing a few Lindt truffles in some sort of box/bag. First I saw these adorable little heart favour bags online:
Very pretty!! its not avaliable in my colour (pink) but white would work as well. At $0.68 each these are pretty reasonable, but i’m still looking at $68 for the bags
However, then it occured to me that I could just buy a roll of glimmery pink tulle, but it into circles, and make my own little tulle bags for more like $5. If I wanted this could be embellished with a ribbon rose and some ribbon.
Do you think the heart bag is a nice enough extra to warrant the extra $60? Would the tulle bag seem sort of cheap in comparison?

I think the tulle bag can be cute. You can add the ribbons as you said and maybe some kind of charm. I like that better than the heart, actually.

tulle always screams super-weddingy to me.
maybe an square organza bag?

Haha, i guess i should have included a ‘neither’ option!! I’ll check out different fabrics as well!
but i guess overall it doesn’t bother me if a few things are super ‘wedding-y’.

I like the tulle bags. I don’t think most people really inspect the favors that closely. If there is candy in the bags…they just open them as quickly as possible to get to the candy!

Out of those two options, I would go with the tulle circles. Otherwise look into square organza bags.

I like the tulle circles better. They’re simple and you can do pink!

They are so similar, that I would save the money and do the pink circles. I think the hearts are embellished a little too much w/ the rose and bow.

Thanks guys! I’m definitely leaning towards the Tulle. It will have a favour tag on it (which matches my other paper products), and ribbon.

i like the hearts, but with that big of a price diff, i voted for the circles!

I actually like the rounds better than the heart bags. The bow and such look cheap to me, but you can dress the rounds up with good quality ribbon that you get on sale!

I am not a fan of the heart bags…. but the Tulle is super cute! You could get a personalised ribbon too if you wanted to.

I think your guests will be happy with either choice – but I like the tulle better. I’m not a huge fan of the heart baggies – but either choice would be fine. I would vote for saving the dough and you can make the tulle ones in your color.

The tulle circles are wayyy nicer. Those heart bags look really cheesy, imo.

I think the heart ones look kind of cheap. Sorry!
