I called the salon last week and left a message but no one ever returned my call. My Bridal Shower is Saturday so I called again today to book my MUA trial. Firstly, they gave me the run around on who to talk to and why my call was never returned. Secondly, the lady who finally came to the phone was very rude. She kept interrupting me in the middle of a sentence and also kept saying “Hang on!!” when I asked a question…it was so strange.
Anyways, she wanted to book me with the MUA who specializes in bridal makeup but he was booked. She looked at two other MUA’s schedules that she said were “very good” but they were off work Saturday. Then after 30 seconds of silence she said “Well, I guess I will just book you with Kim.”
Now I am scared that Kim isn’t very good with bridal makeup. She told me on the phone the person who does the trial also will do my makeup on the day of the wedding. I would rather have the MUA who specializes in bridal makeup…so should I cancel this appt. and wait to do my trial when he is available?

Wow, somebody needs to teach that moron the art of telephone conversation. I work in a salon and I’d be livid if I overheard that conversation, whether I was one of the “specialized” artists or “Kim.”
Yes, I would look elsewhere. Not necessarily because the make-up artist might not be good, but because this shows such an utter lack of professionalism that I would not want to be dealing with these people on my wedding day.

That’s what I am thinking. The phone call definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. I just e-mailed another lady who does airbrushing so hopefully I hear from her soon.

I would schedule it for a time when the person who normally does bridal makeup is available.. but before doing that, I would make sure that they would be available for your wedding, too. [Like, for sure available, not “Opps, we’ll just give her Kim”.

I have a friend whose makeup was done by the “specialist” for her wedding and it was gorgeous, that’s why I’m not giving up on them just yet. I am going to e-mail them instead of calling. I wouldn’t want to get yelled at for asking questions again!
