It depends, do you work at McDonalds?

Seriously though, wear what makes you feel good.  What else matters?  Well that could be a very open question…..

You can always ‘dress up’ a work outfit with some pretty earring and a necklace and some fancier shoes!

@futuremrste:  I had a reduction 7 years ago. My first thought was to tell you that in a few weeks time, your scars may be quite healed and not a problem. But when you mentioned your surgical bra, I changed my mind. You really should wear it 24/7. I think what you described would be fine, unless you happen to find a bolero on the cheap or a different dress that would work better. Hope your recovery is going well!

@futuremrste:  Well I was dancing competitively 4-5 weeks after surgery so I think you will be fine! You could ask your surgeon for peace of mind though!

I think your work outfit is definitely appropriate and not too casual at all – even if you didn’t just have surgery, but especially so given your circumstances. If I was the bride, I’d be thrilled that you made the effort to come and wouldn’t think twice about your outfit. Good luck with the rest of your recovery, I hope it goes swiftly and smoothly.

Grey and black are not necessarily wedding colours. Have you got anything that’s more wedding appropriate?

I think it’s do-able, since the bride knows that you recently had surgery.  Personally, I’d try to brighten that outfit up a little bit though, because it sounds a little dark for a casual (presumably afternoon?) wedding.

@Irish-bride:  I must respectively disagree and say that this outfit is like a little black dress, making it cute and not morbid.

I think that outfit is perfect. It’s still a dress of sorts (skirt/dress same difference). The only thing to be aware of is how short the skirt is. I doubt it is too short, but make sure you check!

First white, now black and grey? Where does it end? Why wouldn’t it be appropriate for a wedding?

OP, I think that outfit sounds absolutely fine.
