I think it depends on what the plan is and who the 18 year old is. I wouldn’t categorically disagree, but if some of the things you mentioned occur, I would think there could be a problem. If there is a dinner and hanging out, like at a piano bar or comedy club, (even if there is heavier drinking) that could be fine with some communication. If there is an outing to a bar where drinking is the only entertainment, that might be inappropriate. I guess it depends on how wild and adult the night is expected to be. Best advice would be to check with the night’s coordinators.

Well, she is your daughter and its your bachelorette party, so I think you can pretty much ban her. I agree with the PP though, if you DO want her to be there if there isn’t too much adult entertainment, check with your party planner to see whats going on before you make your decision.

Umm. Well. I’m 19, and would have NO interest at ALL in going to my mother’s bachelorette party. Awkward. But then again, that’s just me. I guess it would depend on the situation?

I don’t think most 18 yr old girls would want to go their mom’s bach party

I would probably attend my mothers bachelorette party. If there were strippers I would find that absolutely hilarious and if we went to a night club or out to a bar I would spend more time with my sister then with my mom. I guess it all depends on the mother and the daughter.

Um, no. And if I was 18 I’d have no desire to be anywhere near my mom’s bachelorette party.

Well, I guess it might depend on what you planned to do for a bachlorette, but in most cases hell no. Honestly, I might be a bit prudish, but if you’re old enough to have an 18 year old daughter, hiring a stripper getting crazy drunk is probably not age appropriate any more.

@MissHobbit: I totally agree, but I know that if my mother got remarried she totally would haha.

But no, I feel like most 18 year old daughters would not want to go to their moms bachelorette party unless it was like, a spa date I guess.

Let’s mention that 18 isn’t 12. Most 18 year olds have seen what strippers have now a days. I think it totally depends on their relationship. My mother attended my bachlorette party. It wasn’t awkward at all for us.

18 is legal age to drink, vote, everything in Australia, I would totally want my daughter there (and actually I want my mum at my own).

Also male stippers are really honestly just gross, not at all sexy, so I wouldnt want them at my party anyhow (esp if it meant I was going to leave my daughter out just so some guy can wiggle his bits at me EWWW).

My daughter could have come to either of my bachelorette parties if she had been in town.  Then again, one of them was at Dave & Buster’s (restaurant and arcade games), and the other was at a traditional Korean bath house.

I think it really just depends on the situation. If it was going to get wild, then probably wouldn’t want my 18 year old daughter around (and she prob wouldn’t want to see that anyways lol). If it was going to be more of a spa trip or some place more under 21 appropriate (like D&B or a restaurant) then sure, why not?
