blinx:  You know the old saying , ‘Looking back, you don’t regret what you did , you regret  what  you didn’t do . ” Go, you won’t  regret it .

I could have gone on trekking/walking tour of  Afhganistan and Iran  years ago but was too proud to borrow  money. Not going to happen now is it !

As another bee said, at times of loss, gatherings are really comforting.

When my best friends closest guy friend, whom I was also friends with, committed suicide, we were all devastated. But after the funeral, we went to his family friends home, where we watched old home movies of him and looks at photos of him and shared stories. There were tears, laughs and people whom he cared about meeting and becoming friends. It was wonderful.

    I think you should go.

So sorry to hear. This must be very difficult. Everyone handles things differently. You have to do what you feel is right. Itd be a nice tribute to her if you went, but you can also find ways to remember her and honor her in your own way. Do what feels right!
