I dunno it depends on what your—I’m sorry your friend’s 🤣—husband’s schedule is normally like. My husband works so many hours and still takes care of so much at home, that I would be so happy if he took a week off work to play on his PS4. Whenever I suggest for him to take time off he always says he can’t. : (

ooh yes, this is true. I answered based on my own situation. We already spend lots of time together and he does a ton around the house (we work together and don’t have kids). So if he needed to take a breather with some Xboxing I wouldn’t have a problem with it.
If you were already feeling like he wasn’t really pulling his weight at home and this was an opportunity for him to change that – then bought an x box instead – I can definitely understand why that would be frustrating.

I wouldn’t mind at all. In fact, I would probably buy myself a controller and join him!

Thank you so much everyone for the replies!! I really appreciate the different perspectives and reading all of your responses!
I am trying to just let it go and not say anything about it. I think my main issue is feeling like he procrastinates SO much and lets projects pile up…it was his idea to take the week off to get things done around the house before the holidays, plus some fun family type things. He just isn’t really the type to finish things and has a bunch of unfinished junk everywhere…I just wish he would get on things and not just decide to start playing XBOX instead. Getting the XBox next week was supposed to be like a reward, but he just skipped over that part and bought it for himself early. It’s not the money at all, its just annoying LOL. He sort of makes me feel like a stick in the mud, or his mom, or something for getting irritated that he isn’t doing things around the house and is just doing something that is a waste of time!! I know he deserves it sometimes, as we all should totally get a break sometimes…but I don’t really get much down time either, so I don’t think playing video games for hours while I keep up everything else and am exhausted from watching a busy toddler on top of working is really fair either :-/ I get on here at night after I work sometimes. The rest of my “down time” is spent doing laundry/dishes/picking up the house/everything else around the house that moms do all day every day.
ANYway, thank you all for responding!! I do appreciate it and I guess I just needed to 1) see if I am insane and completely selfish for being annoyed about this and 2) vent.
