What concerns and hesitations do u have?
What concerns and hesitations do u have?
for me? the cost. that and the location. I live in a pretty conservative area and I’d have to go to Richmond (at the closest, I’m sure) to get good boudoir photos…. so between the cost of photos and gas? not really worth it, unfortunately 🙁
For me cost and result/quality. I want the result to look tasteful like a piece of art instead of something from adult magazine. An example of the picture I like is the picture of Elizabeth Taylor picture when she was young in black and white.
Also, I’m not well endowed, so it’s also something I’m hesistated on. I don’t want to spend money and not to have the result look the way I envision.
I am considering it, but I have the same issues as Ryna – we are pretty tight with money just saving for the wedding, and this would be an added cost….enough that it would be the *only* gift I got Fiance for X-mas (or birthday or whatever) and I have a feeling he would appreciate something else for the amount of money spent.
I am in the money boat.
I love how they look, but I would hate to risk that kind of money just to look like a fat girl in skimpy cloths.
(also I have some reservations becuase fo my FI’s past porn addiction and it being like me telling him it is okay to pick it back up again.)
how does OP have 7 posts under his/her name, but only 1 comes up under the user info?
or really, what I’m wondering (just curious!) what does OP really want to know, since his/her name is actually boudoir! (I’m not accusing of trolling! I’m just wondering where this is going…Is this a vendor who is taking a poll to improve business practices? I guess that’s legit, if people want to answer it, right?)
Well, anyhow, for me, I wasn’t going to do one cuz they were too expensive, and it seemed like it would cost additional to have access to the photos without buying prints from the photographer, but I ended up buying a groupon that is way cheaper, and I’m pretty sure I can download the prints.
@red_rose: check their profile
60 min shoot is $800 in NY. That’s right ladies, for AN HOUR, you pay $800.
Anyone else think it’s a bit pricey? ’cause that would be WAY out of my price range…even if I HAD the extra dough to toss around.
eta: in NY, that might be a good price. I don’t know. but for me? nope. not gonna happen at that price!
@red_rose: She has some posts in the classifieds. Anyhow, to me it’s a comfortability issue AND cost issue. Many of them are way too expensive and the prints also. I wouldn’t want to spend $$$ and then not be able to afford prints. Also, I don’t know how comfy I would be trying to ‘look’ sexy 🙁
The biggest issue is the cost. Either there aren’t very many photogs that do boudoir so they charge an arm and a leg, or I’m just in an expensive area.
@red_rose: We are a Boudoir Photography company. But this post is not an ad, it’s more of an investigation. 70% of our clients are brides-to-be or recent brides. We’d like to improve our service and speak to potential customers. Your answers here might really help us understand your needs better and adjust our services =)
Cost. It seems like the trend blew up in the last few years and the costs have blown up with it. I don’t see how some photographers want to charge up to $1000 for 60 mins of photos in a hotel room. It’s not like it’s fast paced and they only have one chance to get the shot like a wedding.
Cost. Even at $400 I’m hesitant.
Hesitations: 1) $ 2) Body image.
I’ve been losing weight steadily for about a year now, but I still have quite a way to go until I reach my goal weight. When I hit it, however, I just might splurge–sort of as a treat for myself.. as well as Fiance.
I agree that $800 and $1000 is a lot of money. No question there. There’re much less expensive options out there. Google! You can get boudoir pictures for $150 and I bet plenty of women go for that =) The question here is the quality of service.
Starting this conversation I really didn’t expect the cost to be the main issue. I was interested in the psychology =) Do you feel comfortable with the concept? What would you use the images for? Do you think your partner would like that? Do you think you would look good in a picture like that? Would you be comfortable if the photographer retouched you to look smaller? Curvier?
Most importantly I’m really interested why so many women decide to do sexy photographs on their wedding? What’s the connection? =)
I couldn’t see paying anywhere near that. The photographers near me charge from 150 on up and their pictures are great! If I wasn’t comfortable with the photographer starting out, I would go to someone else until I was. I know my Fiance would LOVE it. He’s constantly asking for sexy pictures. I wouldn’t want the photographer to retouch me to look smaller. Maybe just get rid of any flaws like if any dimpling was showing. lol
