@Chael: I don’t think jealous is the word, but I would be mad. It is not his problem and I wouldn’t expect he would make it his problem. If someone isn’t smart enough to hail a taxi or find a hotel then social darwinism should play out 😛 Seriously, sitting around crying? What’s that going to do? Take a taxi to the police station, to a hotel, to wherever – solve your problems! Some random girl who could have made up the story and be totally insane sleeping with my man? Yeah…that’s going to happen.

Exactly what I was going to say (:

Not jealous, but probably mad/annoyed that he was not smart enough to figure out that maybe he should have just paid for a hotel room for her and left, or simply call a cab for her.

The Darwinism bit made me laugh. I don’t know but I’d assume as she was a foreigner she didn’t know how to call for a taxi and taxis don’t just drive around residential areas like they seem do in America.
On another note, reading other people’s comments I wonder if his decision compared to other’s choice of what he should have done is an age thing or a student thing. I’m pretty sure if I stopped to ask her why she was crying I would have made same decision to offer to house her for the night. I definitely wouldn’t assume a 19 year old would try to kill me. Rob me, maybe but not kill.

i wouldnt be jealous, probably annoyed and asking alot of questions. 1. did she not have money to stay in a hotel? 2. so her boyfriend who gets put in jail for fighting is totally cool with her sleeping at some random guys house? if i was a man i wouldnt want to take the girl in so her punk boyfriend could come after me later on. 3. how does your boyfriend lock someone in a room? are there locks on the outside of doors? im surprised this girl was totally okay with being locked in a room? i mean if she got up to go to the bathroom or woke up before him in the morning and found herself looked in that could be a crime on your boyfriend. Your boyfriend is lucky she didnt call the police on him.

@Chael: I honestly think your SO just has a heart of gold and wanted to help her out. It’s something my fiance would do as well, I’m pretty sure. I’d be ok with it.
ETA: She’s pretty lucky it was your SO who took her home, not some asshole sleazebag which would have turned out very badly for her.
