Before I saw the dress I thought my answer would be no.  I had no idea it would be that!  If she gets it died another color, I could live with it.  No one else should be wearing white, or off white, unless you decided to have an all white wedding party.  Its absurd.  Does she hate you, or is she just that clueless?

If its more peach or pink that =’s cool but if not….

I’d totally be channeling Meet the Parents, with the crazy stray cat + dress+ locked room = dress disaster…

Is it wrong of me to think that? Embarassed

Sorry to be the unpopular voice, but I don’t think it’s that bad. Maybe it’s just the registration on my computer, but it looks like a corally-peach to me. If it were white, or ivory, that’s a whole other story… and if it is, just remember, if you think it’s tacky, everyone else at the wedding is going to think so too. She’ll only embarass herself.

Wow…um the pic said it was peach? If your dress is white, stick a corsage on her and everyone will know she is Future Mother-In-Law. What does your FH say?

I would have to go with the general consensus here and say that the dress Future Mother-In-Law chose is not exactly appropriate because its a little formal for MOG wear. I would be equally pissed if a guest of mine wore their prom dress…brides should be the most formal in this situation…

If she’s very conscious about looking great, tell her that color washes her out and she’d look better AND YOUNGER in a brighter or deeper color. Good luck.

It’s not white- you said it yourself. I would not even think about it.

Like a few others have said- I never even thought about what others wore to my wedding. I couldn’t even tell you what they wore.

Besides, everyone knows who is the bride.

Hi.  Just read it is pink.  That is not so bad.  I thought it was white or ivory.  I think being pink it is not so wedding dress looking.  It really is a very pretty dress.  With more accessaries too, I am sure it will be even less bride looking.

I was in a bad mood the day I answered too.  :o)

I would talk with her, esp. if you get along. Just tell her “you know, I said the dress was fine, but thinking about it I’m not sure. Other family members think it looks too bridal. Is there a way we can change the color”

Be as honest as you can about how you’re not comfortable with her wearing it, mention that other’s think it’s yours, and give an option out. The designer should be able to dye it if nothing else.
